Grown women who talk baby talk in public

I've seen this a few times. I have concluded it speaks to some emotional ineptness in the person. The particular case I am recalling the person's life had been one crisis after another and this baby talk in adult conversation was a way of keeping the conversation cute and not confrontational. The way some men use sarcastic humor constantly to avoid revealing conversations. Its like a wall that keeps them safe.

How sad for people to build walls between themselves and the world. But, in some cases, maybe it's the only coping mechanism they have. I hadn't looked at it from that angle.

I was sitting here thinking about a couple people who use this "baby talk". They don't like confrontation, but they are surrounded by unresolved conflict, and when they do get angry it is extreme. When they come back and apologize they use the "baby talk"..."I'm sowry...can u forgive me?" To the observer you really begin to realize with what you are dealing.

Some people are just so heavily oppressed by demons they ended up that way. Please be courtesy and dont go to the supervisor.. If she doesn't listen to you, then return with 2-3 other workmates to let her know about it as the Bible says. Then if there is a problem. Let God deal with it! Pray!

Maybe she is a doting grandmother and always around her grandkids, and forgets when she's in the office, or maybe everyone in the office is acting like a child, so she's just treating them like one!! (only joking)

Not quite sure, but I have a friend(who is 50) and she's like that too!

She is a school teacher too(so maybe that's why!)

She sounds a little querky to me.

Hey - do you remember Cindy in the Brady Bunch when she had that lisp?

The kids teased her at school and said this little jingle,

Good point, Blein. I wish I could remember the passage that says this....but I can't. I do remember that the Bible says we are supposed to deal with such people by by consensus. Where's Fresno Joe when we need him?

I would see this as an opportunity to work on my own tolerance and patience. It may be annoying but it's not a sin. I wonder if she's just overly maternal and feels comfortable enough in the office to 'mother' in this regard. I would try to just work on it myself first and see what becomes of it.
