If you study these and you take the other list given you, and read the context of total Scripture you will find that they were adressed to those who God in His foreknowledge would make the right freewill choices

It seems to me rather convenient that you chose to leave out such passages as Eph. 2:1-9, and Eph 1:1-12 which clearly teach of God's predestination and the giving of the gift of faith! Of course you gently slipped by Romans 3,5,9,and 11. For a guy who wants a study of the entirety of Scriptures, to me it seems far too convenient for you to leave those out!

Absolutely Pryzma, read the verses he spoke of, or just a few, then go and read the ones listed here, and make your conclusions... not because His Son said it was Biblical, or because I said it was Biblical, but because you see it as Biblical... That is what's most important.

The issue is presented on both sides, and both have Biblical standings... niether is totally unbiblical and unfounded, both have an entirety of Scripture behind them and both have there troubles.

I have chosen to believe that God does choose who will be saved, and since God chooses them, he will bring them into his presence. None who are elect will lose salvation... none! That is my view... I hope that helps

Rev 22:18-19

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

KJV

If my name is in the book of life then i must be saved right? So what happens if my named is removed ?

good question.

But is says there... "19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

..Isn't that just meaning taking away? ...u know what I mean? .. like is that the ONLY way you will be removed?

I see what your saying and your right. This verse is only talking about the subject of taking away and adding... it does not suggest that this is the ONLY way you can be removed... :t:

Hi Ms.Pryzma,

Most of us here have different views on salvation. Some believe once saved always saved, some believe you can be saved but then fall away later, and others believe even more diversley than that. For my tow cents worth I feel that once you truly accept Jesus into your heart then you are saved. If you truly are a child of God it dosen't mean you won't slip back now and then, after all we are only human. But when we do and if we go to God about it He will forgive us if we are truly repentant. God knows what is in our hearts there is no hiding from Him. When one becomes truly saved, we are still faced with the temptations that we were before, the difference being that we are not "alone" when we face them. If we were to go back willingly and purposley to our former life yes I believe we do turn away from God. BUT God hasn't turned away from us. God isn't fickle, mankind is. Are we still saved? If you go back to the old life and willfully, intionly do things we know are not pleasing to God yes I believe that God will mete out punishment to us. Salvation is only as sincere as the person who pledges his life to Christ.

Hopefully I have been able to make a clear statement on this.

papasangel I must say that I am in agreement with your post. God does not turn His back on us but we turn away from Him when we allow our flesh to take over our life and not God.

Say if Jesus comes back right now and I'm in this sorta 'mode' then what??? And whats my problem why can't I get out of this 'mode' - thats also why i said "have tried but it just didn't work out."

Well I hope that all made sence...

I can only pass on my experience as I have gone through the same experience.

First you need to understand that most of us have at one time or another wandered off. Some of us much farther than others.

Second, you have to decide what you really want. I know that may be a silly thing to say, but for a while I knew what I really needed, but it was not really what I wanted. When you decide that He is what you rally want:

Third you need to take a weekend off, just you and your bible, and literally talk, outloud and by yourself to Jesus. I found that for a while I had to close my eyes to accomplish this, as most do in prayer. After a few hours I found I could carry on a conversation just as if he were sitting in front of me. Tell Him how you feel, how you miss Him,tell Him you are sorry for each thing you have done. Of course your really must be sorry for them. When I ran out of something to say I would just open my bible to anywhere and read. Within 20 minutes or so if nothing surfaced, I would just open it to some place else. Those things that you will need to discuss will come to you, not necessairly because of where you are reading, but they will come because you are with him in the word. The bible helps keep focused on Him.

Fourth, understand that Satan and his evil brood will not be pleased with your decision if you make the decision that I think you will, and they will keep up the temptations for some time. Simply invite them out of your life. Do it with respect but firmness. Let them know that you wish nothing whatsoever to do with them. It helped me to recgonize where the temptation came from and after a while would silently chuckle at thier tries. It made me feel better and the temptations are much further apart and easier to deal with.

I guess Fifth would be just carry on, remembering that relationships don't happen over night. Give it some time to develope, but also it takes the work of two to make a relationship. Remember that the relationship that you seek began with salvation. Just because you have set back your relationship does not necessairly mean you have lost your salvation. It does take some work to rebuild a relationsip whether it is with another person or God.

I can not give you scripture and verse for these things that would be agreed to by everyone here on this board, I can only say that they are valid for me personally as I have lived them.

And if Jesus comes back tonight..... well maybe you'll just have to rebuild that relationship face to face. I really think if you were lost forever you would not be here on this board, or would not be worried about it.

Sam

Why does God choose who is going to be saved - Doesn't he want everyone?

Thanks everyone for your comments - It's given me alot to think about. I'm trying to get back into a relationship with him, but it's very hard! (it's most probably all the guilt and stuff) .. Please pray for me?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
