I meant to respond to the person who said that in political science, the profs are both conserv and liberal. I do not think so! In the university where my young bro-in-law just studied, they were all liberally minded. Where his dad went to school 40 years ago, same thing. They are both die hard liberals because of this I'm sure.

"There are two issues here. The criteria for employment and the issue of the political views of the faculty. The association is to my mind nonexistent. It may be that faculty tilt toward the liberal end but that has nothing to do with why they have been hired," Zuckerman told Campus Report.

Don't you just love his explanation for why there's more liberals than conservatives on his campus? He believes the labor pool is more liberal and that's his explanation. Well for a country that is virtually 50/50 when it comes to liberal/conservative, you'd think the labor pool for those jobs would be more diverse.

Maybe only liberals grow up wanting to be college professors, I don't know, but I know what would happen if there were more conservatives on those campuses teaching than liberals. The senate/congress would propose a fairness doctrine for hiring professors.

I guess, on those campuses we (conservatives) can say that we must fight for our rights on those campuses, so as to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. I'd love to see that argument happen.

Old saying i remember hearing growing up. "Those who can do it, do it and produce, those who can't do it, teach at a university"

This is what we're faced with, and it'scary.

My daughter and I got to talking about the election. She says she's a Democrat, and that she likes Obama or Hillary. So I decided to test her a little. I asked her why, what issues. I couldn't pin her down. She doesn't have a clue about the issues. She's always been against abortion, but was even trying to justify it some, when I told her both these candidates are pro-abortion. When I pinned her down hard, all she could come up with was that they would bring the troops home. Not knowing they haven't in 8 months and won't as president, because they know they can't. It's this way with many Dems. They vote Dem, not knowing why. Thankfully, she most likely won't vote.

It could have been me, in my much younger days, before I wised up and got a clue about the facts.

I've heard a better one.

The way our education system is set up, the A students will teach the B students how to work for the C students.

I do not go by what I see or any charming words when it comes to politics. I ask Jesus about their hearts..who is going to be opened to Him and can be humbled before Him. I do follow the issues....!

I read the last 10 of Celtic Warriors Posts, every single one of them were judgemental, demeaning and hyper-critical of conservatives. You are doing the very thing you accuse every conservative of doing.

I can be judgemental when criticizing ungodly behavior. My criticism comes from the Bible, where does yours come from? Abortion, homosexuality, lying, paganism, are all behaviors unacceptable to God. All of them are a direct violation of His 10 Commandments. If you have a problem with His laws, then you need to bring it up with God, but you cannot criticize Christians, even if you claim to be one, for being judgemental of sinful behavior. There's plenty of scripture that not only encourages us to judge, but requires us to.

You can get off your soapbox, because so far, you have contributed nothing substantial to this topic.

If you wanna throw barbs and darts at everyone here, then I suggest you get your facts and scriptures straight.

Consider this a kind rebuke from one of your brethren.

Its interesting that celtic claims hitler rose to power because of conservatives when it was FDR who was a liberal that only jumped into the game when he had to.

I see your Historical knowledge is as faulty as your political knowledge. 1st Roosevelt was a Democrat and a progressive, but I won't quibble terms there. Roosevelt wanted us in the war MUCH earlier than it happened, but it was PUBLIC SENTIMENT and Congress who opposed it. So much so that even nearly 70 years later you can still find people spouting conspiracy theories about how he KNEW about the attack on Pearl Harbor in advance and even planned it. Conservative conspiracy theories I will add. IN fact, it was Roosevelt's LEAN LEASE program that kept the rest of the world in the war and fighting until we did join it!!! And in earlier days I got to listen to tons of tales about how Democrats can only keep an economy going by going to war, etc and so forth. More conservative hype that strangely ended now that the last 3 wars we've been involved in were republican started wars.

As to hating Conservatives? NO, I don't hate conservatives, just hate all the one sided, lack of knowledge, prejudicial postings and rantings I see from them. I hate the number of people that are lost to Christ because of Conservative hate and fear tactics. I hate the number of people who tell me they can't believe because of all the hate and hypocrisy in the "Christian" church. I've managed to pull a few back to Jesus from that view of God's true church, but I tire of the constant battle with hard hearted, cold hearted, self righteous bigots who go about calling themselves Christians while they preach hate and discontent, stir up dissent and dischord, and so on. This is supposed to be a Christian board, not a political sounding board for the far right. There isn't a post here from a conservative that ever even looks at both sides of the issues (in fact they never really look at the real truth of their own side, only the rhetoric). Only stereotypings, slams, hate speeches, stirring up evil attitudes against their fellow man, and so much more evil. And for the most part you really don't know what you're talking about. You look at a highly distorted view of one side and think you know it all. AND for the record, my grandfather and father were both conservatives and republicans, and what's been said here about democrats not knowing what they're voting for goes equally well against republicans. MOST Americans vote their biases, including most of you here.

As to judging others? Well yes, Jesus and the New Testament does allow SOME judging of others, but NOT the type I see from Conservatives. He talks of RIGHTEOUS judging, of properly based and scripturally sound judgements and for the most part even leaving judging up to God. He talks of making sound judgements in YOUR OWN walk with Him, not in heavy handed stereotypical condemnations. In fact He warns all of us to use caution in our judgements because we will be judged by the same methods we use to judge others. Care to be grouped with ALL sinners? You have sinned too, and in God's eyes all sinners are the same. Do YOU wish Him to stereotype you as you do liberals and democrats and moderates and anyone else who doesn't parrot your particular view of 'truth'?

James 4:11 - 12 (ESV) 11Do not speak evil against one another, brothers.

And, as to the 10 Commandments? Well the old covenant began it's death throes at the Crucifixion and breathed it's death breath when the Temple was destroyed in 70 a.d. The 10 were part of that covenant. The New Covenant is based on the Blood of Jesus and the Commandments of LOVE and the LAW OF GRACE, not stone tablets. Read your Bibles. It's in there very plainly.

Jesus did not abolish the 10 Commandments, He fulfilled them. If you follow the teachings of Jesus you are following the 10 Commandments. And that is the plain teaching of the Gospels.

amen and amen... It was Roosevelt who did the correct thing...The american people opposed it all the way but Roosevelt said he had to do something. I read enough books on the roosevelts. I am glad he decide we were to be involved. Americans are too complacent...they do not want war or to rock the boat but they would've been complaining if they were overrun by hitlers people, or communists....I am a American so I can say this..patricia1 :mgfrog:

Do you keep the 7th day Sabbath? AS required by the Old Covenant (and I mean Saturday, NOT the 1st day of the week) and if not, what is your justification?

NO, we are under GRACE and neither the Gospels NOR any other part of the New Testament ANYWHERE states that Christians are under any part of the Old Covenant, Paul plainly writes

2 Corinthians 3:3 - 11 (ESV) 3And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
