Martyrs

we hear more about a multi colour headed man covered in tattoos and his sinful life then we do about Christians being killed....

in 1996 alone, about 160,000 Christians (thats right, one hundred sixty thousand) were martyred and yet, this does not make the news?????

this week we have (had) 23 Christian Missionaries, from Korea, providing medical care in the middle east, and they were taken hostage, 17 of them women....... so far, two men have been executed (shot,killed, martyred) and yet, i have not seen anything on the news about it, had to go to other sights that i frequent to find oout this information.....

if this was another type of group, do you feel that this would be handled the same way?????

who has them???? the talaban, and we want to pull our troops out and allow them free reign?????

Lord, My God, Father of all creation, You alone know what these men and women are upagainst, I petition You to place Your Glorious, Holy hand upon them, for safety, comfort, strength and understanding, that they will remain steadfast to You, and Glorify Your Holy Name.... forever and ever and ever and ever, and even after all the forevers are done..... The martyred Christian is not a rare thing any longer. As a church we fast and pray for the martyred church the first sunday of each month, I will be sure to pray during this corporate time for these Christians, and now of course. It should be a strong call for all Christians to hold up, in prayer, those that suffer for His name. Eventually we will know what this means in this country, we can not escape it forever.

I have not heard of these particular brothers and sisters but thank you for sharing their plight.

I belong to a international prayer group since 1986. I know missionaries all over the world and and we come together at conventions. Some do not make it. I get news from them and hear horrible testimonies of martrydom. I talked with Nora Lam who was interrogated for hours as a christian, only to me let go after all the bullets of a firing squad missed her. She was told by God That her child will not be born under communistic reign. They let her leave with her toddler which was a son. She walked to freedom with nothing; believing in that one promise, carrying her child( I believe for 13 mos.) I can not imagine.

Presently Martyrdom is all over except a few countries . The heads (?) of government in africa are mostly non christian and hate christians. A friend of mine who is a pastor over a number of churches stayed at my house s few times when she comes back from there for reprieve. She said that when most christisns ar siezed where she is they do not return and the tortures are barbaric. She has had some of her workers snatched and believes through prayer and the Grace of God, one returned scarred up. And still remained for a short time. but had to send her home for fear of her being followed to other churches. She cried. She wanted to stay. That is passion and Love for Jesus! You get it when you dneed it to withstand such torture!!! The deaths are too numerous to count. children as young as 1 year old are being stolen and taken. For some believe thier innocence can cure aids.

Not only islamic people killing and hating christians but just hateing americans and anybody else who sympathizes with them.even certain catholic orders in other countrie torturing christian. p.m me if you want info.

A missionary family taken by force sent off in a boat down a river without oars having to leave thier two girls behind.

My best friend got caught sneaking bibles into china. In comparison to the amount of times she got away with it.she knew the time will come. They are really stricit there and sound horrible..My friend has a double portion of joy most of the time and all she kept saying "do you like literature? good literature. see good literature!" she was dressed as a rich successful buisness woman and after 20mins of her playing dumb they let her go. I took care of missionaries dying fom malaria, yes it still happens... a horrible death no less, in the hospital. Hot water has been poured down peoples throats for speaking the word. President Bush is aware of the christian martydom. I get most of my political information from them. It gets faxed right to them from washington. They have a place totay...a special prayer group sent there and certain " workers" wanted them removed."

Martyrdom will come here as well. When? I do not know. All I know is my five year old was drawing and singing in tongues...I was trying to see if I could interpret. I could not. then The Holy Spirit sang through her...Oh, my Lord Jeeeesus, Don't leave me heeerrre when you commme, Oh Lord Jeeeeesuss please take me with you! " Now my daughter has absolutely no teaching yet about His return. She is seven now... I got the chills.

If someone threatens my daughters life or someone dear to me will I denounce Christ? NO! She knows that no matter what happens she and I are going to be in heaven eternally and vice versa.

A question I have( we can post it somewhere else if you like) but i have always been turn the other cheek kind of person but if I had a chance to protect my family in the case of army infiltration here or whatever, am I allowed as a christian to shoot and kill. Many I have spoke with are half and half. the men are ready to fight and protect and some of the women to and vice versa. Thanks for reading my ramblings...

Am I hearing you correctly? That Pres. Bush has a prayer group that prays for the martyrs?

I know persecution has been on the increase, but many do not....

20 years ago, our babysitters uncle was killed in Kenya ( a missionary )

we have friends around the world, India, Afgahn, UEA, Korea, China, and other places, even in the European countries as missionaries.....

in Shiloh, there are three large maps, one of the USA, which has military members pictures around it for those that come to pray for...... there is a world map that has missionaries pictures around it for people to pray for..... and then the Martyrs map, showing the countries and their threat levels from no threat to mild to moderate to extreme..... another place ( by the front door ) is posters of missing children (the boys found in St Louis this past year, Shawn was on the board for prayer there.... as they are found we remove their picture praising the Lord.....

We share things sent out from the VOM (Voice Of the Martyrs) and have received packettes to be distributed so others can learn about them, we also receive email notices of martyrs, and prisonor alerts for them and place them on the prayer list at Shiloh, (and other places)

I receive testimonies from missionaries that we have contact with, the persecution and martyrdom is not slacking off, just getting more and more common......

people in the USA and other "FREE" countries, have a very poor idea what persecution is.... they have very little idea what true "FREEDOM" is..... only a few have an idea of the cost of freedom....

satan does not have to attack the "FREE" countries, the "Christians" there, for they are so weak, they are almost totally ineffective.....

prayer life???? why do we scream when some one takes prayer out of school????? we do not pray at home, so why worry about school, or work or public places????

in Korea, there are people praying 24/7.... and fasting toooooooo......

shoot, we cant deal with out braums or dairy queen or macadooos..... how many double or triple burgers have you all had this month??????

a former co-worker of my wifes, her brother came to visit the USA, from Africa, and he asked what was for dinner, and she said, oh, i was thinking of getting a cheese burger and some fries, he said, JUST ONE? and she said yes, he said it will not be enough...... he changed his mind when he opened his up, not a double, not a triple, just a single cheese burger, and small fries...... this satisfied him.....

the Christian of the USA has evolved with an extra two or three layers of padding........ on their back sides.... the Christians in the other parts of the world, have evolved with two or three extra layers of calouses on their feet, and backs, and hands, no extra padding.....
