Thanks to Delta airlines, you can now sit back and enjoy pedophilia while you fly in comfort across America. While there are certain passengers who may appreciate it, I don't think I am alone in my convictions when it comes to the sexual exploitation of our children. I don't like it.

I have been living in the United States for over 18 years. I became a citizen ten years ago and I'm extremely proud to be an American. I am proud because Americans are a compassionate people. They love and care for their children, and this is never more evident as when they see them harmed by some sexually twisted pervert.

Recently Kirk Cameron, I, and my son-in-law Emeal Zwayne, were flying from Atlanta to Los Angeles. Halfway into the flight, Kirk suddenly looked up and said, "What's going on!" We looked up at the more than twenty screens to see what looked like a nine-year-old child sexually gyrating and stripping in front of an adult audience. As we watched in horror, a few of the adults in her audience stood to their feet and began to clap to the music, obviously encouraging her to strip further, which she gladly did.

The airline kindly warned that the movie contained "adult situations, strong language and violence," and reviews said that it was "hilariously funny." No doubt the film's makers had a reason for their juvenile stripping scene, but what we were looking at wasn't a normal adult situation, nor was it funny. This was the promotion of pedophilia in the public arena.

We looked at each other and asked "How could this be happening?" This wasn't some in-house meeting of NAMBLA where perverts were getting off on seeing a young child take her clothes off in the privacy of their own clubhouse. This wasn't in some dirty little back room in Downtown Los Angeles. This was in front of mothers and fathers and their children on a domestic flight on Delta airlines.

What sort of twisted Hollywood scumbag is allowed to get this trash on a public airline?

The three of us immediately protested to a flight attendant. She smiled and gave her standard response, "You don't have to watch it. Just get on line on the Delta website and register a complaint." She was too busy caring for the needs of the passengers to see the movie.

One of the other passengers heard our protests and began to say that he actually enjoyed the film. Personally, I would like to know the names and addresses of anyone who enjoys watching little kids take their clothes off in public. I would like to warn the families in their area.

If someone is caught with this trash on his personal computer, he will find himself with a stiff prison term, but if he enjoys it on Delta, then that's his right.

I feel angry when our flag is burned, but if it's part of America's freedom, I can live with it. But if our freedom has its bounds, let it be at the harm of our children. Let's not let those who are our enemies see how we treat our children. If we can't agree on gay rights, prayer in schools, the war in Iraq, let's at least agree on this issue.

I have been on more than 1900 flights and I have looked away from adult entertainment many of times, but I will not close my eyes with this issue. I will open my mouth and do all I can to shame Delta for what they have done. What do I want from them? I want a very public apology. I want them and all the airlines to clean up their dirty little acts. The airlines outlawed smoking on their planes because enough passengers complained that they didn't want other people's poison in their faces. Liberty has its bounds. So if enough people protest about pedophilia flights maybe the airlines will ban their poison, and even create a NAMBLA room in the terminal so that they won't lose their business.

I like Delta's flight attendants. They are friendly. I like their pilots. They are good at what they do. I even like their food, and after the horror of 911, I want them to get on their feet financially, so I have a suggestion. I would like them to know that "Fly Delta, the pedophilia airline" isn't good for public relations.

What was the name of the movie?

It would appear that the title of the movie, from the article, is Little Miss Sunshine w/ Stave Carell, Greg Kinear, and I think, Dakota Fanning. I have not seen it. So I cannor give my opinion on it yet.

I've seen Little Miss Sunshine and it contains no nudity or depictions of sexual intercourse, and certainly not sexual intercourse involving a child. Although some people will find the movie offensive or inappropriate to children (it's rated R), it is a lie to call it pedophilia. Personally, I found the scene in question to be a jab at the whole idea of beauty pageants for children. Here is a link to a Catholic review of the movie. That reviewer's comments on the scene are:

Underneath the zaniness, there's an incredibly positive reinforcement of family and an affirmation of genuine values, especially in the ultimate pageant sequence, which underscores the superficiality and vulgarity of contemporary society, even though eyebrows may be raised at Olive's onstage antics during the talent competition. Still, the real lesson is the importance of being true to oneself.

The reviewer concludes by saying:

It is important to note that there's an unfortunately high quotient of expletives and some sexual references (mostly courtesy of the Arkin character during a protracted, extremely coarse rant in the van) that would seem to limit the film's suitability to adults, and necessitate the "L" classification as a warning about the film's problematic elements.

Several Catholic parents to whom we've spoken have opined that they would not even have a problem with their older teenagers seeing such a pro-family film.

If you can see past the objectionable elements, this is a road trip you'll be glad to take. The film contains rough and occasionally profane words, sexual references, a suicide element, a minor gay plot element, a sight gag involving adult magazines and brief drug use. The USCCB Office for Film & Broadcasting classification is L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. The Motion Picture Association of America rating is R -- restricted. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian.

I can only assume that Ray Comfort was not paying attention to the movie for his comments are entirely off the mark.

I will not comment on the movie in question, because I have not seen it personally. I am always cautious regarding these types of criticisms. I remember when Harry Potter first came out, a friend of mine said it was evil because a character in the movie said there was no good and evil, only power. I saw the movie, and came to discover that the character who said this was Voldemort. It was his philosophy of life. Tt was also a philosophy that was not condoned by the hero's of the movie (in fact it was shown to be wrong). In narrative, point of view is everything.

in respect to the catholic reviewer and the catholic parents, that would not have any problem with their teenagers seeing what by description alone appears to be trash bordering on porno, without any intrinsic values. it especially does not sound as if it has any value to what is assumed, when someone, especially someone claiming to be a christian, uses the term "family values"personally, i as an adult who has seen enough filth in this world, would not wish to see this tripe, and i would definitely would not allow any child of mine to view it.

rough and profane words, sexual reference, suicidal element, a "minor gay plot element" a sight gag involving adult magazines and brief drug use. yet somehow, the catholic reviewer sees positive family values here. i think the catholic church needs to purge more. if the catholics themselves don't react to this as a negative, then they will not have any room for disagreement with anyone in the future. and the word is not "gay" it is homosexual. the bible does not call it gay, nor do they try to be politically correct. i don't believe anyone that is truly a christian, should call sin by anthing except its' name.

these are not good family values. and if anyone here on this christian board is feeling liberal, and believes in letting everyone do what they want, after all they are not hurting anyone, you are in apostasy. you are following a different gospel, and you are definitely not staying in the word of the Lord. read it again. and again.

if you are a catholic, and i know there are a lot of catholics on this board, i would think you would want to reevaluate your faith, and especially your leaders, all of the way to the top. they are commiting alot of errors and doing a lot of damage, in the name of appeasement, and by doing so they are dishonoring the completed work on the cross and the suffering of Jesus our Lord.

i would hope any christian, would by now be seeing the need to stand up for christian principles, that were written into the bible, as the words of God. instead of accepting trash into your lives and criticizing a Godly man, for standing up for what is right. in a world that has made it ok to murder babies, i guess some feel there is no reason to fight on. just wait where you are until christianity is illegal, not that many would appear to care) and you are forced to accept any and all things, expressly without your opinion or dissention. this will include all matters involving your family as well. which by the way is already happening.

it is time christians got their heads out of the sand and not only recognized the enemy for who he is, and for what tactics he uses to defeat us, but to be able to look him in the face and tell him that you know he is the enemy. not by cringing and worshipping in the temple of satan. certainly we don't offer a prayer inside a gate to hell, and excuse it by saying, "well, i was praying to my God, not theirs. it doesn't work.

we have to stand up and stop him now. a trashy movie forced beyond good taste on a paying customer is unconsciousable. would any of you fathers allow your daughter to act like that girl in the movie? well if she sees it she just might. for real this time. you must straighten your own minds, and decide whom you and your family will serve. it appears you failed here.

Veteran husband-and-wife musicvideo and commercials team Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris make a disarming segue into features with "Little Miss Sunshine," a quietly antic dysfunctional family road trip comedy that shoots down the all-American culture of the winner and offers sweet redemption for losers -- or at least the ordinary folks often branded as such. Pic's distinguished by a flawless cast, a gentle spirit of rebellion and a smart script by first-time screenwriter Michael Arndt that knows never to push its character quirks too hard. Its humanity and heart make it a natural to transcend the indie niche to a broader audience.

Within hours of its premiere at Sundance, Fox Searchlight swooped in to close a worldwide distribution deal on the film, snagging the specialty division a release that stands a chance of being molded into another crossover hit on the order of its Park City pickups "Garden State" and "Napoleon Dynamite."

Like the broken-down VW bus that transports the Hoovers from their home in Albuquerque, N.M., on a foolhardy but determined mission to Redondo Beach, Calif., the filmmakers have an astute understanding that a family is a wildly imperfect machine, made up of ill-fitting components and prone to malfunctions minor and major.

A sharply cut opening sequence of quick character-establishing scenes underlines that this is an especially problematic clan.

Richard (Greg Kinnear) is a motivational speaker on a career downslide yet stubbornly committed to his "Refuse to lose" philosophy. His wife Sheryl (Toni Collette) barely disguises her impatience with his canned claptrap, hinting at deeper marital disharmony. Their teenage son Dwayne (Paul Dano) is a Nietzsche devotee maintaining a vow of silence until he's old enough to become a fighter pilot, while Grandpa (Alan Arkin) is a profane old horndog with a heroin habit. Newest addition to the household is Sheryl's suicidal brother Frank (Steve Carell), a renowned Proust scholar who lost both the male grad student he loved and a MacArthur Foundation genius grant to a rival academic.

The family's sole oasis of serenity and self-possession is Olive (Abigail Breslin), a slightly chubby, bespectacled 7-year-old with a questioning nature and a fixation on beauty pageants. Having been taught to pursue her dreams, Olive has been privately rehearsing her talent routine with Grandpa; her shot at the Little Miss Sunshine crown is the engine that drives the comedy.

There are probably few more obvious emblems of soulless success than a children's beauty contest. And the notion that Olive would somehow get onstage without her parents having any knowledge of the act she was preparing -- or any misgivings until the last minute about the potential humiliation she's being subjected to -- seems implausible. But as a chaotic, cathartic bonding experience, it works, in part because the family members are so caught up in their individual frustrations and insecurities.

During the interstate trip, punctuated by hilarious setbacks and disasters, the directors nurture the melancholy strain in Arndt's script while subtly coaxing small signs of love and support within the Hoover family. The eccentric comic tone is deftly channeled by a cast with no weak element. As a guy who seemingly buys into the most trite prefab pop-psych blather but gradually reveals his deeper sensitivity, Kinnear has never been better, while Collette does lovely, understated work as an emotionally burdened, abraded woman whose caring nature is never in doubt.

Dano plays an introspective teen different from his character in "L.I.E." Communicating only with terse notes such as "I hate everyone" for much of the movie, he's both funny and affecting. Gracefully sidestepping all the usual traps of too-cute screen tykes, Breslin is a delight, anchoring the comedy with a balance of guilelessness and innate wisdom as a kid who marches to her own drummer.
