I’m just curious what everyone does during their time with God and maybe some special daily rituals you might do to stay present with Him!

Shalom Lotw8,

Welcome to Worthy Christian Forums. Please feel free to browse around and get to know everyone. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.  As soon as you post a few times and after they are approved, it'll tell us that you are "real" person and not a "bot", you'll be free to post throughout our forums and join our chat rooms.  Forgive us for this minor inconvenience, however, we've had issues in the past with Spammers as well as those who wish to post obscene photos and messages!

Currently, if you just began at Worthy, you are in "Newbie" Status.  Simply post a single post, as soon as it's approved, you'll be out of Newbie status and then you'll be able to edit your profile, as well as upload a profile picture.

Let me share a little bit of my vision for the ministry in a parable.

Let's say I'm throwing a big party and am inviting the world to the party (the forums) and I want everyone to have a great time, eating (reading through posts being fed), drinking (being encouraged to walk in His Word), and having fellowship with one another.  In Israel, we have Shabbat meals -- and whenever you have 2 Jews -- you have 3 opinions -- it's GREAT to be opinionated.  I encourage discussions ... but during our Shabbat meals ... we never ever get to the point in disagreements whereby food is being tossed and seriously yelling takes place!  And if someone comes into the meal ... and starts throwing food ... and yells at everyone -- what do you suppose the head of the Shabbat meal will do?  He'll escort those causing problems out of the house!  Why?  Because the whole reason for the gathering was to learn from one another ... to have a great time of fellowship!

Some people like to constantly throw food and yell ... they won't last on Worthy ... because they missed the point of the party ... it's a prequel to the true party -- the Lamb's Supper!

All I'm trying to provide is a place to allow true fellowship ... and discussions in love ... in the hopes it will be a catalyst for true REVIVAL based on REPENTANCE!

I hope you have a blessed time at Worthy!

Please use the REPORT POST feature (which can be found at the top right of all posts) any posts that you believe should be reviewed!  We strive to have ALL members abide by our Terms of Service.

While this message is "automated", please know that if you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a private message, which can be found at the top right to the left of your name.

Your brother in the Lord with much agape love,

George

I wake up, give thanks for this day and all the days of my life, quick prayer and ask God to guide my heart and mind, ask Him to guard my heart and mind. After a 'good morning' to my wife I pour my first cup of coffee, sit down and on the PC pull up my "THE WORD FOR YOU TODAY" I receive daily, A verse or two is explained and expounded upon. It is amazing how the scripture verse being discussed is so often in sink with my present situations, lifting me up, or bringing conviction.

I eventually walk down to my shop, sit down and read a few pages of current book being read, a western, a book on the Bema Seat Judgement or  a book on a better way for sharing the good news or Readers Digest etc etc. If I'm ripping plywood that day I stop and with my hands on the saw, acknowledge God, ask for wisdom and safety, etc, throughout the day. I am constantly submitting to God's for strength  while taking thoughts captive, and resisting the defeated devil who will flee. This goes on throughout the day and  has become automatic, without having to think of doing it so much.

Quote;    "Various sources suggest that the average adult makes 33,000 to 35,000 total decisions each day, including what we will eat, what we will wear, what we will say, and how we'll say it."    Dec 5, 2023         (That's a lot of 'thinking/thoughts':)

I do not have a quiet time set apart like most say they do. I do not have a special worship time either. I do have a good conversation with God before getting up and getting to bed at the end of the day going through the days events, confessing sin, giving thanks for the victories over temptations, and a big hearty thanks and gratitude for his mercy and grace and all the favor I know I do not deserve. This may go on longer than anticipated. The older I get the more I am grateful, knowing how blessed I am, the real blessings I mean.

I worship as best I can in all I do, not in a cathedral setting. Praying or building a cabinet, helping a grandson or  visiting a neighbor, as unto the Lord, abiding in all my daily work. The little things, motives,  can have more worship in them than the grand things. Two mites can have great golden value, and a fortune may burn like hay. God knows our hearts (“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?)  I acknowledge this, and try to remember not to trust my motives till I reflect with scripture. No, I do not always do for sure this but I try.

Great topic Lotw8.   (So what is your time and rituals with God like?)

My prayer life is mostly a constant state of communication in my mind and thoughts.  There are many moments when work, life, and the unexpected take place that requires my absolute focus.   But in general I praise, meditate, pray constantly.

I read my Bible daily and take what I read to see how it applies or how I can apply it to my life.   But I have developed a constant line of communication through my thoughts.

I also have created a habit of saying the Lord's Prayer that He taught to His Disciples every night before bed time which I do pray verbally in a normal speaking voice.

For me, it's habits that I believed were good to do and eventually they become normal activities in my daily walk in God.

I really enjoy reading these replies! Keeping the knowledge of the presence of the Eternal throughout my day enforces my sense of always speaking the truth. Afterall, God is worshiped in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)

Hi @D. Adrien Prayer and the Scriptures are indeed essential. 1 Peter 1 shows indeed how our very life in Christ is linked with the Word of God.

I walk with the Lord, and He walks with me. My vocation is whatever He gives me to do which, during these days, is a servant and counselor of the homeless and the needy. I am often called upon to testify to --- or advocate for --- those whom He places into my care.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
