That would be interesting. Do you know that in the 1800's there was what was called "The Underground Railroad". Many of

those who were called the"conductors" secretly transported the black slaves to Canada where they would be free.

Sure, I  used to venture through some of the paths, caves, and tunnels as a New England kid.

Very interesting. Of course many of the blacks did not make it.

I read a lot and some of that includes history. Some of my favorite historical reading is WW2 and the Jews

being saved from the Nazi's. Have you read the book or seen the movie "Schindler's List?". It is a true story

and Oskar Schindler saved 1,200 Jews from being exterminated.

I will probably get in trouble for posting this but it is good [Video Removed & Replaced With Reference Only]

@missmuffet It's interesting how the US-Upper/Lower Canada border in the 1850s morphed into developments in the 1860s.

In the 1850s, the US authorities (or strictly slave catchers whom the authorities were powerless to stop) went after fleeing black people because of the Fugitive Slave Act, while welcomed in Upper/Lower Canada.

In the 1860s, during the Civil War, Confederates based in Canada raided areas such as northern Vermont, with the US authorities greatly annoyed with the British for apparently allowing the Confederates free rein to do so. After the Civil War, Irish Fenians who had served with the Union tried to continue the conflict by raiding Upper Canada; indeed, President Andrew Johnson was no friend of the British and privately sympathized with the Fenians.  This danger from Fenians became a principle motivation for Confederation in 1867.

Maybe The president elect now that he is elected could move to a position like the one he did on abortion; not for it not against it let the States each decide it will be beautiful.

Or fund the vetting process! So that does not take six months or more to get a "green card" Might even learn how to help the city of Portland Maine, and the State  of Maine, fund and process of legalizing  their needed workforce.

Private businesses at Portland Me. now fund it  plus the State has starting kicking in money too. Because having workers is saving their local economy!

Businesses are cutting open hours some are closing for lack of willing workers. When I visit many small towns I see help wanted at most every business. Plus I see reduced business hours and signs that say open only  on Tuesday Friday and Saturday. All for lack of a workforce.

But no let's fix bayonets and round up a willing workforce of them foreigners, put em in "camps", and then ship em out. Final solution done quick and easy. NO! Does America really have no heart? Does America first mean and only for those that look and speak like me?

How can any of us visit a holocaust museum, see the  images of a horror like that image below and still say  "Round them up, ship them off", thinking tough luck what happens to them  wherever they get dumped. All the while passing out Tracts on Tuesday evenings of the "Roman Road"  thinking, how Christian I am.

I see many conservatives like me who are excited with the idea of mass deportations.  I just wonder if they have thought through what that would look like.  They are going to use the military.  So, are we talking about military personnel asking people for their papers and rounding them up into trains, airplanes and busses?  Are we going to see the diary of Anita Sanchez instead of Ann Frank?  Democrats invited them here, allowed them in, flew them around the country, gave them money and free housing.  Does that sound like something you do for illegals who broke the law?  It was wrong, but they did it anyway and Republicans sat back and did nothing.  We can't just start dropping off tens of thousands of people into third world countries and expect them to be ok.  I'm expecting starvation, death and sexual abuse for many women and children if we do this.  I want the gang members, drug dealers and criminals to go.  I would also try to send back as many single men as possible.  Families, women and children I would try to work with.  First, shut down the border.  Pass laws with severe punishment if you hire illegals.  Next, give families that want to be contributing Americans green cards and a path to become citizens over a five year period.  Work, pay taxes, obey the law.  It would be kinder and cheaper than just trying to ship everyone back.  It's not like they are all just going to get in line and let you send them back.  It's going to take hundreds of billions of dollars and God knows how many people to round them up.  It doesn't seem possible.

I believe the priority will be to round up all those who've already been ordered by a court to be deported back, but haven't, then all those that committed a crime in the US but remain at-large, along with those that have a criminal history from their country of origin, and lastly those that overstayed visas.

I just don't believe, nor can I envision, the US doing anything similar to what Germany did in the holocaust, or what the US did with America-Japanese internment.

I think there needs to be common sense and compassion.  Can we realistically ship 20 million people out of the country?  No.  Should sanctuary cities shelter rapists and murderers? No. How about we completely secure the border.  Use military action against any coyotes or cartel members on both sides of the border to stop the drugs, illegal immigration and human trafficking.  Once that's done, get rid of anyone who is a known criminal or has committed a crime since they came here.  After that, I don't think it makes much sense to try ship the rest back.  Give them a path to citizenship if they work, pay taxes and obey the laws.  You also need to completely squash hiring illegals and paying them slave wages under the table.  This will incentivize people to come forward and work legitimate jobs.  America first does mean "Only those who look and speak like me".  It means you learn English, assimilate to our laws any ways of society.  As far as looking like me, what does that mean?  We are the biggest melting pot of any country in the world.  Trump got record numbers of black and Latino voters.  I'm so sick of people accusing Republican of being racist.  Especially when the Democrat side is openly racist and antisemitic.  I don't know how many times I see people openly stating how much they hate white people.  Then you have white liberals assuming black people are too stupid to get an ID, but we are the racists?

Up here, with French Canada acknowledged as a distinct society, it's the English-speaking immigrants in Quebec that cause resentment when they insist on speaking English a lot and not learning French.

This is a sub-text to discussions of immigration in North America as a whole.

Let's look back into history. Many immigrants come to the US from Italy,Poland,Russia,Hungary and Ireland and many

other countries. They came to New York City through Ellis Island 1892 to 1954. 12 million immigrants went through Ellis

Island from very bad situations from where they came from. Many wanted to come to the US to start a better

life. Many were treated poorly because they came to the US from another country and were treated poorly such as

the Irish. Many of our ancestors came to the US in this way.

Today we are looking at the same situation. Immigration today is a very controversial topic. Of course we

want to keep the bad guys out. The Cartel and those who break the law and do some really bad things. Yes,

let's keep them out. But the U.S. spends money on some things that are a waste of money such as:

1. 518,000 the federal government spends to study how cocaine affects

the sexual behavior of Japanese quails

2. The government spends 3 million dollars a year to watch hamsters fight.

3. The government spends one million dollars a year to print documents

that no one will ever read.

4. The government spends 1.2 million dollars a year to research the social

habits of monkeys.

5. The government spends $35,000,000 a year for phantom clinics which

are fake clinics.

The ridiculous spending goes on and on.

The US has said that bringing in some of these immigrants is costing them a lot

of money. Maybe they should prioritize where their money should be spent to

maybe help some people in need.

Aside from Divine Instructions to Migrate we have these factors.

Copilot Quote:

Immigration is driven by a complex interplay of factors that can be broadly categorized into "push" and "pull" factors. Here are some key forces that drive immigration:

Push Factors
These are conditions that compel individuals to leave their home country:
1. Economic Hardship: Lack of job opportunities, low wages, and poor living conditions can drive people to seek better prospects elsewhere.
2. Political Instability: War, persecution, and political unrest can force individuals to flee their countries in search of safety and stability.
3. Environmental Factors: Natural disasters, climate change, and environmental degradation can make living conditions untenable, prompting migration.
4. Social Factors: Discrimination, lack of social services, and poor educational opportunities can push people to migrate.

Pull Factors
These are conditions that attract individuals to a new country:
1. Economic Opportunities: Availability of jobs, higher wages, and better living standards can attract immigrants.
2. Political Stability: Safe and stable political environments can be a significant draw for those fleeing instability.
3. Social Services: Access to better healthcare, education, and social services can be a strong incentive.
4. Family Reunification: The presence of family members or communities from the home country can encourage migration.

Other Influences
1. Globalization: Increased connectivity and information flow make people more aware of opportunities abroad.
2. Policy and Legal Frameworks: Immigration policies and the ease of obtaining visas or asylum can significantly influence migration patterns.

Understanding these factors helps in comprehending the complex nature of migration and the diverse motivations behind it.

Biblical examples of migration

The Bible is rich with stories of migration, reflecting the journeys and struggles of various individuals and groups. Here are some notable examples:

1. Abraham: God called Abraham to leave his homeland and go to a land that He would show him. This journey, described in Genesis 12, marks the beginning of the Hebrew people's history.

2. Jacob and His Family: During a severe famine, Jacob (Israel) and his family migrated to Egypt, where his son Joseph had risen to power. This story is detailed in Genesis 46.

3. The Exodus: Perhaps the most famous migration in the Bible, the Exodus describes the Israelites' journey from slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land, led by Moses. This epic journey is chronicled in the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.

4. Ruth: The Book of Ruth tells the story of Ruth, a Moabite woman who migrated to Bethlehem with her mother-in-law, Naomi, after the death of their husbands. Ruth's loyalty and faithfulness are central themes in this narrative.

5. The Babylonian Exile: The Israelites were forcibly taken into exile in Babylon after the conquest of Jerusalem. This period of displacement and eventual return is described in books like 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah.

6. The Early Christians: The New Testament recounts the spread of Christianity through the travels and missions of the apostles, particularly Paul. These journeys, often undertaken under difficult circumstances, are detailed in the Acts of the Apostles.

These stories highlight themes of faith, resilience, and the search for a better life, which are still relevant to migration experiences today.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
