Matthew 4:5-10. Satan knows who Jesus is and that He is God's Son. Then why tempt Him at all? Especially, why try to tempt him with the kingdoms of the world, when He is the master of the universe?

I guess what I am trying to say is, if Satan had no chance at all then why being tempted by him and resisted is such a big deal?

The Word of God says it very simply why:
John 8:44 (KJV)

[44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

To answer your question.. these are my thoughts,

- Bcos Satan was allowed? Otherwise it wouldn't even stand a chance, I dont think so. as scripture says in verse 4-  "Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil."

Jesus was fully human fully God, When Lord Jesus fasted as a human it was a moment of weakness of flesh, so satan probably wanted to try its luck perhaps?  To see if he can tempt Jesus like the way he was able to tempt Eve and Adam? And he was successful with Adam and Eve but little did he knew Jesus entered the pictured and saved the day.  Moreover, by standing firm in the scripture Jesus showed us the way to deal with the Satan when our time of weakness happens and Satan try to tempt us.

Hope that answers your question.

Shalom!!

Countenance!  Satan's countenance much like later on Cain's countenance was "fallen". In that state Lucifer was railing, railing against God by doing all that He might to get back at God the Father.

What better way than to attack God the Son  even if he would fail? In his state of fallen countenance he is motivated to cause as much grief to God the Father as possible.

I feel like this hits the nail on the head, and that in the big picture God allowed this to happen for our own benefit amongst other reasons. Satan used scripture out of context as part of the temptation. Jesus countered by putting it in context. This shows us what Satan will do and how we can deal with it ourselves.

In addition to this Hebrews 4:15 emphasizes that Jesus was tempted in all ways as we are. To me this demonstrates a sincere quality. He's not just sitting on His throne stoically watching us. He can relate. If He was tempted as we are it also shows us that His life on earth and the crucifixion weren't rigged, for lack of a better term. Taking into account what He prayed in the garden there was some clear desire on His part to do it another way, but ultimately He followed God's will over His own. Yet another example set for us.

Because it was important that Jesus be tempted any way that we would be tempted.  Add to that, Satan isn't nearly as smart as some people give him credit.  The original example of that would be in the garden of Eden.   God had to know that we would be judging angels when it was all over, and he made Adam and Eve and, through them us, not qualified to do that.   And it was Satan that was responsible to get first Eve then Adam to eat of the tree of knowledge that did give them the qualification to do so.

And it's gone down hill for Satan since that day.  What were the temptation s?  To do things for Jesus's personal gain. Whether it was turning things into bread or saving his physical life from jumping off the building to attaining all the kingdoms of earth without the sacrifice that was coming.

Goodness, would Satan have pushed the Jews to kill Jesus if he thought he would be raised again.    I think not.  It's like God is playing 4d chess and Satan thinks they are playing checkers, and he's way too proud of himself to recognize his shortcomings.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
