Got some light in a couple verses I read this morning in the Daily Light devotional (which is comprised of just scripture).  Here are the two verses:

"For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him"  Col 1:19

"For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace." John 1:13

I've understood that all the fullness of the Godhead dwelt bodily in Christ (Col 2:9), but what I don't always see is that Christ is the forerunner for all of us.  That is, we are being conformed to His image, that many sons would be brought into glory and a close relationship with our Father.  He was the last Adam, and we've been placed in Him and He in us.  Therefore He is the original prototype of us!

Truly, what is man?  Therefore He is not ashamed to call us brethren! (Heb 2:11)

Indeed, what has God wrought?  May our eyes be opened to this glorious fact!

I thought the first created man was Adam, the 1st model, type, prototype.
Un-corrupted before the fall.

Later, Jesus became man.
Jesus is the last. We can follow Him, or the first model, Adam. In-corruption vs corruption.

Colossians 1:

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Adam is of the earth, whereas Christ is of the heavenly. Our changed bodies will be different than Adam even before the fall.

`As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.` (1 Cor. 15: 48)

We will have bodies that are incorruptible and immortal. (1 Cor. 15: 54)

Also, our character will be of the Lord, His divine nature, (2 Peter 1: 4). We will be able to go through walls, and through the different realms just as Christ did. We are being made for the highest position in all of God`s great kingdom - Christ`s own throne. (Rev. 3: 21)

I understand all of what you have wrote and agree. Yet Adam was the first  prototype of man.
Our bodies WILL BE changed. To the likeness of Christ.

Like most any prototype, changes are expected, refined, to completion.

In Christ, we are complete.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

The Son of God is the prototokos of man from first to last.

First Adam: corrupted image

Last Adam: incorruptible image.

1 Corinthians 15:

46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual.

47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.

48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust;

and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. (as stated by @Marilyn C.)

49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust,

we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man...

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality,

then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheds a man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed:

for in the image of God made he man.

1 Corinthians 11:7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head,

since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.

2 Corinthians 4:

3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,

4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe,

lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ,

who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come

and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne,

Did you get your question answered effectively?

Actually, I wasn't sure what it was you were having difficulty with, as the verses you presented seem to show that Christ is indeed our (new) prototype.  That is, the old race came out of (first) Adam; the new race comes out of the Last Adam (Christ).

I had no actual question, but thanks VA. I assumed the scripture presented would suffice.
The OP indicated Jesus as our prototype.  I understood Adam was the first man (prototype).
A prototype is considered a
preliminary model of something, to be tested, refined, and future models developed. In my profession I have made many machine prototype enclosures that were rebuilt or modified to improve performance/construction manufacturing etc, till the finished final model is settled on.
I would not consider Jesus Christ a prototype, as He is perfect, needing no "improvements, our Model"...
.:)

Scripture says; Adam, was a type of the one who was to comeJesus.

The last Adam,  Jesus, is perfect. In Christ we are perfect (complete)

My quote:
"I understand all of what you have wrote and agree. Yet Adam was the first  prototype of man.
Our bodies WILL BE changed. To the likeness of Christ.
Like most any prototype, changes are expected, refined, to completion.

In Christ, we are complete."

Thanks VA...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
