John 6:44 is a favorite of mine as it describes what happened to me. It is an amazing exercise to look back at the events of my life when he intersected my life.

I am not certain, but I think I know just when he regenerated me and then about two years later spoke to me just after I had looked into the heavens and asked God to show me 'truth'. I have shared that testimony here before.

The change was, as you say, remarkable. As a 19 year old man, I had a great deal of money through the sale of drugs. I gave it all up immediately--my friends thought I was nutz. I began within weeks to preach in parks and street corners and devouring scripture. Humans simply don't change like that. God extracted me from one place and planted me in another. I had no more power to do that than I do to fly.

Those early years were awesome!

Yes I would agree. The faith of Christ is the gift of God.

There is no half and half. No one can walk both sides of the fence. Jesus called out to those who were neither cold nor hot. You question put out is tricky. None have been able to live up to Christs commandments, but this does not necessarily make him a half believer. I don't know what translation you use but it does not sound like KJV. 

Paul warned Timothy that there would be phonies to come into the congregation and poison the brethren with falls hoods. This is why he also that he schooled Timothy about knowing the word of God as a workmen who need not be ashamed, but rightly dividing the word of truth. These things happen even today because so many are religiously to go to church and their bibles are never studied but become only ornaments Are these people saved. the Lord knows. 

Some of you scripture leaves you hanging not be fully wrote out which could be confusing to the meaning. This is also why I only use the KJV because we need an anchor that holds fast to the truth because one word can cause misinterpretation 

I tell you that those who hunger and thirsts after righteousness shall be filled.

2 John 2:9,10 speaks to those who are not even saved. They have no doctrine to even live by. They are phonies and not born again. They can go to church till the day they die all in vain.
