<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-10495" style="border: 0px; margin: 6px 10px;" alt="israel-map-flag-protest" src="http://www.worthynews.com/wp-content/uploads/israel-map-flag-protest.jpg" width="168" height="126" />JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (<a title="christian news" href="http://www.worthynews.com">Worthy News</a>)– An immigration judge has ordered the deportation of a Messianic Jew arrested last week while participating in an evangelistic event in Israel, according to Morning Star News.</p>

<p>Barry Barnett, 50, a worker with Jews for Jesus (UK), was ordered to leave the country by early December. Barnett was assisting at the “Behold your God, Israel” campaign at the city of Be’er Shiva when he was arrested Wednesday.</p>

<p>According to his wife, Alison, six immigration officers took Barnett to an immigration office in Omer where he was held for several hours without charge; he was then transferred to a prison in Ramle where he spent four days in jail before his hearing.</p>

<p>In a press release, Dan Sered, Israel director for Jews for Jesus, stated that Barnett's arrest — the first for any of the organization's members in Israel — was “outrageous.”</p>

<p>“As an Israeli, I have been proud that our country allows for freedom of religion. Yet those who seized Barry and took him to prison have done a shameful thing.”</p>

<p>Sered said the presiding judge ruled that Barnett was not allowed to engage in missionary activity while in Israel.</p>

<p>“They did not really give a reason why they detained him,” Sered told Morning Star News. “All they said is that he was doing ‘missionary activity.’ That is correct: he was doing missionary activity and that is legal to do in Israel.”</p>

<p>But was Barnett actually authorized to engage in missionary activity under an Israeli B2 tourist visa?</p>

<p>“The global ethics code for tourism,” said Sered, “which the state of Israel signed and even advertises on its own Ministry of Tourism Web page, states that tourism for the purpose of exchanging religious beliefs is not only valid but also should be encouraged”.</p>

<p>Sered said Jews for Jesus would fight Barnett's deportation because it could be used as a legal precedent to expel missionaries engaged in any religious activities deemed unacceptable by the Israeli government.</p>

<p>Barnett's wife said that the ultra-Orthodox Yad L’Achim had shadowed Jews for Jesus teams in Israel since the campaign started, causing some of its members to suggest that immigration officials are acting in concert with ultra-Orthodox Jews to hinder the work of evangelists as part of a larger state-wide crackdown on foreign missionaries.</p>

<p>Yad L’Achim’s own website posted that it interfered with Jews for Jesus’ “spiritually poisonous propaganda.”</p>

<p>“Yad L’Achim has been dispatching beefed-up teams of activists wherever the missionaries are taking up positions in order to alert the public as to their nefarious goals.”</p>

<p>Jews for Jesus is an international organization that makes the messiahship of Jesus an unavoidable issue for Jews around the world, including their homeland.</p>

<p>Alison — who wasn’t with her husband when he was arrested — said she expected some “opposition” while in Israel.</p>

<p>“And quite frankly, if we don’t get any, we probably aren’t doing our jobs right.”</p>

It's unfortunate that many Jews really hate Christians.  I've experienced it first hand myself.  My best friend since 7th grade married a Jewish woman and he'd even converted.  Her family was very orthadox and we drove past a Jews for Jesus billboard and she got very irate saying "Do you see that!  Spreading lies!"  I tried to explain how Jesus was the messiah and she said "But he's not!"  Then my friend told us to drop it and we did- but the tension from her was there.

Anyway.  She wouldn't let him be my friend anymore because I was a Christian.  Still hurts me to this day.

I know Jews are only trying to protect their religious heritage.  If they only knew how much real Christians love them and are on their side.

But Jesus IS their religious heritage; the challenge is getting that veil out of the way (2 Cor 3:15).

Indeed.  Unfortunately most won't even discuss the subject because they feel it is blasphemy.  I want to see them saved and have found it a very hard witness.  Like my friend and his wife I still pray for them and have hope.  It's all the Holy Spirit using us when we lead another to Christ of course.  The time isn't right I guess.

What makes me feel twice as bad is I led this best friend away from a witness when God had touched his heart one Spring Break.  I wasn't saved and we'd went to Padre Island about 19 years old.  We'd been many times before and this one time it was just us and we were out to party.  On the beach a Christian Group had made a huge breathetaking sand sculpture of the crucifixion.  They witnessed to my friend and he was moved and wanted to go with the Christians to dinner that night instead of a club.  They called and I said- C'mon man!  We're here to go chase women, get messed up and party, it's Spring Break!

Anyway my friend didn't go and it weighs heavy on my heart now.  I ask God to forgive me for such a blunder out of my youthful ignorance.  Now I am against a wall because he's converted to Judaism because his wife wouldn't marry him unless he did.

I still trust God there will be a solution eventually.  Would love to see he and his wife saved.

Paul must have felt the same guilt after not only persecuting Christ's church, but for being a passive participant in the stoning of the very first Christian martyr, Stephen. But in end, it's not he who wills or he who runs, but God who shows mercy (Romans 9:16) when He chooses to.

We each have are veils at one time, or another.

We all did wrong  things when we were young and nobody can know the things of God unless a person is born again,God will hear and answer your prayers for your best friend,do you still hear from him now and then? Maybe you can try to get in contact with him and share with him the big things God did and is doing in your life?

I know Jews are only trying to protect their religious heritage.  If they only knew how much real Christians love them and are on their side.

Jews do not hate Christians. They don't even really hate Christians.

From a non-believing Jewish perspective, a Gentile who is a Christian or becomes a Christian is not an issue at all. However, if a Jewish person becomes a Christian, since people who used the name of Christ have persecuted and killed Jews, a Jewish person who becomes a Christian is viewed as a traitor, and also someone who is now worshipping a foreign God.

From a non-believing Jewish perspective, a Jew who believes in Jesus, and shares the gospel, is trying to convince other Jews to worship a foreign God. Since the penalty of spreading belief in a foreign God in the Mosaic law, is the most severe, that activity in Judaism is seen as stealing a soul. Any religion which seeks to 'proselytize' Jewish people and convince them to believe in a foreign god, is in the same category.

So, Jewish people do not hate Gentiles who are Christians. Jewish people are angry at Jews who believe in Jesus and missionaries who work to tell Jewish people about Jesus. Of course, this is understandable. Those who do not believe in Jesus, whether Jewish or Gentile, tend to be angered by people who share the gospel. That is in scripture.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
