What is of Christ...What is not?!

Greetings in Christ, everyone;

I am coming to you in pain with a hunger for some needed advice.

After a long, backslidden hiatus, I have recently come to Christ again, seeking God and His will for my life, due mostly to a wonderful man I recently met. In my backslidden state, I did terrible, unimaginable things which I had repented for, and thought God had forgiven me for a while ago.

This man that I met was everything I'd imagined a Godly man to be...spiritual, strong, insightful, knowledgable, with an inner light and presence that I figured could be only of God. We began going to church together, praying, and agreed to follow God's path for our lives, do great things in His name, and maintain a healthy relationship, which included being completely honest with one another. I basically exposed my heart, told him all of the sins I had done, but I sensed he had never fully forgiven me. He said he could look past it, but on several occasions, he downgraded me and condemned me, telling me that I was evil, a whore, helped to spread the disease of sin, and that it disgusted him to look upon me.

As I said, I was sure that the Lord had forgiven me, but I thought perhaps his comments were justified, and that I was "reaping what I had sown." On all such occasions, he later apologized, and we continued in the Word, our dedication to God, and immense love for one another....a love that I truly felt was pure and God-given. On those occasions that he DID bring up my past, he downgraded me, avoided me, and said he wanted nothing to do with me. It was at those times that my ex-husband called me and offered to reconcile, which in my weakness brought on by his scathing comments I gave into, only because we have a child and I wanted to try to provide a normal home for her. Everytime he apologized, though, I was sure this relationship was of God, and that I needed to be patient with him.

Well, just yesterday we went to church together (after a fight in which he called me several disgusting names, and swore that we were through), and I disclosed to him, in the spirit of honesty, that I had seen my ex-husband the day before. At this point, he cried tears and told me it was definitely over. He was calm, at first, but just an hour later he veered me into oncoming traffic, threw my Bible into the intersection, hit me, and forced me to drive to a park where he raped me, all the while saying unimaginable things about me and my walk with God. He basically said he was so far above me spiritually, had psychic abilities, said the Holy Spirit told him I was a slut, and that I was evil. He said I had a weak mind and that there was almost no hope for me. While he was raping me, he threatened me and forced me to degrade myself (made me say that I was a slut and whore, and say "I love Jesus" while he was raping me), and said "Get thee behind me, Satan" after the event.

Now I am left with hurt and much confusion. I truly thought this man was of God, and wonder if this was God's way of punishing me, or if this was a lie of the Devil?! This man was so spiritual, with such an inner light, that it truly seemed the Holy Ghost was on his side. At this point, I don't know what to think. I'd hate to think that a rape/attack was God's will, but maybe I am being punished for going behind him, not being honest, and breaking his heart. I told the authorities, who took him into custody, but now I'm left wondering if this was the right thing to do. I wasn't even going to tell at first, but I told a friend who, in turn, went and reported the incident. I'm wondering if this was the right thing to do, and have some feelings of guilt. Maybe this was my fault, and he didn't deserve that.

Am I talking crazy, or does God punish us in these ways?! Please help....I'm very confused.

Ok, lets make a few things clear here.

1) When you repent of your sins, God forgets them. So should you. Micah 7:19

He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

2) YOU are not responsible for the actions of that man. HE is solely responsible for what he chose to do to you.

3) You need to take time to get back on track. Spend quiet time with the Lord, basking in His love for you.

Lastly, find a church and find yourself in good fellowship. Seek the friendship of women and stay away from men.

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..."

Dear Kattanfan -

You need to read Romans 6-8.

What did Jesus do with prostitutes? He told them, "Go and sin no more." And it was a done deal.

Honey, even the best of Christians can have "problems" of some sort or another. This man obviously has some kind of bad problem with anger and insecurity! :P What he did to you was not an act of godliness. It was dead-set wrong.

Yes, we reap what we sow, and yes the Lord disciplines us. But that was neither. That was a man with sin in his heart yielding to the temptation of sin. It happens in a fallen world. ;)

The Lord knows your weaknesses and failings. He does not condemn you for these. Yet you need to use these weaknesses to find your strength in Him. This is what He desires for you to do - what He desires of us all.

The Lord does love you. Fear not!

The blessings of the Lord be upon you!

Dear Kattanfan,

This is just my opinion. You don't have to accept it if you dislike it. DISCLAIMER: I am not a christian.

Do you seriously think that this man who raped you and degraded you did so because of your god punishing you? Do you believe that this man had the holy spirit in him when he behaved in such a way? Obviously you don't, otherwise you wouldn't have got him incarcerated.

I am not of your belief, but I can give you some secular advice. Please get some counseling help. I think you are a victim of a very unscrupulous person taking advantage of your vulnerability and low self-esteem.

Best wishes,

UndecidedFrog

Kattanfan,

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is good to hear our your reddicating your life. Neb and Cando I think put you on the right track. It is a shame that the christian army is the only one that shoots its own wounded. Keep reading your bible and pray that the Holy Spirit would guide you into all truth. He that began a good work in you will complete it.

He should be in jail if he raped you.

What he did was sin against you, forgive him, but when you are called to testify, tell the truth to the court.

What he did was not of God in any way, it was fleshly lust and probably some demonic influences as well.

Keep serving the Lord as best you can, and do try to get some counciling, but make sure you are getting Christian councilors.

I think many here will keep you in prayer, I know I will, and I would advise you to locate some Godly Christian lady friends for support and friendship. Avoid being alone with any male, for any reason.

Glad you are here, I hope you find comfort and strength here.

Dear friends;

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. At the time I had posted, I was still in shock, and the trauma left me discombobulated and incomprehensive...and the fact that we had just come from church confused me even more.

I do still have questions. For some reason, I truly felt that the Holy Spirit was residing in this man. He seemed so gifted, with a beautiful soul, and the uncanny ability to know what was going on inside of my heart...something He claimed as "discernment of the spirit."

Right now, I'm not sure if his spirit was one in "sheeps clothings, but underneath, a ravenous wolf," or if his light was genuine, but as I look back, I realize that

some of the things he did and said were NOT of Jesus...mocking my walk of faith, making me say "I love Jesus" while doing unimaginable things, etc.

I was reading 2nd John last night, and it really spoke to me....all about the love of God, loving one's brother, and how hatred is not of God. I realize now that his act was one of anger, domination, AND HATRED, and that if he was one with God's spirit, as he claimed, he would never have done that.

I'm telling you, though, there was something about his energy which seemed very Godly.....an inner light which seemed to consume the room when he entered it. Now I am beginning to question my discernment abilities. I realize that, as Christians, God gives us that discernment, but how do I know when it's of God?! If anyone has any words of advice, PLEASE share, because I am still confused.

Thank you!!!

Your sister in Christ,

April

April, Greetings in the Lord Jesus Christ, I am very sorry what happened to you. I would like to remind you that our God is not the author of confusion but our enemy. This guy seems to be very powerful psychic it is nor of the Lord, you can see the fruit he produced bewitching you, raping, and degrading you. He may be a Christian by possessed by demonic power. He may be the agent of Satan, familiar spirits very vise, they have a lot of knowledge.

April, I am posting here the part of the sermon of my pastor, David Wilkerson. The witchcraft in the churches so powerful, and hidden, that 10 years ego I became a victim of it. I made a women friend who vas very active member of church and very powerful satanic agent. She is still in the church holding even greater position, and so many husbands are dead now, including mine. Children on drugs, run away from homes, divorce in the families, many strange sikness inluding my dear sister Margaret ,I posted a prayer for her, etc. That is why I learned how it operates so I can stand against it in the name of Jesus. And very important lesson I learned, not to give him a ground to attack me. That is why I am trying to bring some information on witchcraft and how it operates. There is DELIVERANCE in the name of Jesus, ministry for people like us, it will help you to be a victor instead of victim.

Dear April,

Take heed:

2 Corinthians 11:10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no one shall stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia. 11 Why? Because I do not love you? God knows! 12 But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

16 I say again, let no one think me a fool. If otherwise, at least receive me as a fool, that I also may boast a little. 17 What I speak, I speak not according to the Lord, but as it were, foolishly, in this confidence of boasting. 18 Seeing that many boast according to the flesh, I also will boast. 19 For you put up with fools gladly, since you yourselves are wise! 20 For you put up with it if one brings you into bondage, if one devours you, if one takes from you, if one exalts himself, if one strikes you on the face.

He is not of the Lord April. Flee!

In His Love,

Suzanne

Satan is able to masquerade himself as "an angel of light."

If you sense in this man something radiating from him that draws you to him - this is not the Lord.

What is the Lord will draw you to the Lord Himself.

I hope that helps clarify things for you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
