I guess I'm one of the lucky ones then. I don't think I've ever been called any of those things on Worthy Boards. Then again, I don't post enough to be accused of any of those things.

It happens and SJ is right, when it happens to a new person on this board or especially to a new Christian, it can have devasting results...it is the type of thing that should be reported immediatly

Of course it happens. I've seen it happen many times.

Must indicate you are trying SJ.

Basically, it means self-righteousness.

A condemning attitude, one in which someone gets all haughty and looks down at another, in an "I am sooo much better than you in this".

Actually I think there's LOTS of new believers!  I just think they are intimidated by the conversations and feel as if they don't know enough yet to join in.  SJ -- if you ever get attacked like that again -- SEND A REPORT!  Seriously I don't tolerate that nonsense!

Your brother in Christ with much agape love,

George

lol...eh...I brush it off to a point of forgetting about it. But yeah, I definately hope to see new believers popping up soon and just offering us their opinions. One thing I've discovered is that even with the education I've undergone, I am still baffled and amazed and in awe at things new believers say. They have such an insight into God's love because they just expirienced it. They can remind us or teach us things we've long forgotten.

I agree with both of you, SJ and George... I think we also need to not assume a new Christian understands a term or topic we speak about. I remember as a new Christian I was in a Bible study... I don't remember the topic, but I do remember how I felt about something that was said. The teacher began speaking and mentioned some story in the Bible. She said, "Well, we all know what happened in that story." She assumed we all knew the story, so she only mentioned it and moved on. I was too embarassed and intimidated to ask her to explain the story since "we all know" the story already. :)

I think it's very important for the new believers to know they can ask us any question or to speak up when they don't understand something. As we learn the Word... the Truth... we grow spiritually... and I believe that comes from both the giving and the receiving of teaching. So we can all help each other. :il:

Well, as you can see, I'm fairly new to this board, and haven't made enough posts yet to really upset anyone (not that I intend to), but I have been tried in the fire on other boards. What gets me the most is that some of the worst arguments and name-calling are over some of the silliest subjects. I can understand getting a little heated over the deity of Christ or over legalism, but do we dare hurl anathemas at each other tattoos or whether this or that Christian rock group is adequately spiritual? We here are God's children--some of us are eating meat and some of us are drinking milk--all of us seeking to be conformed into Christ's image. Let's all enjoy our fellowship and look after one another. There are plenty of outsiders spying on our freedom that would be more than happy to help our family become dysfunctional. If we are zealous in our love of our Father, then let's extend that same love to our brothers and sisters. Remember the two greatest commandments.

Amen.

Amen :) We should pursue things that make for peace and the building up of one another... not tearing down the work of God for the sake of non-essential things. (Romans 14:19-20)

Ephesians 4:19-22 (NAS)

2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household,

2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone,

2:21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord,

2:22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

Joel, you forgot the worst of the accusations hurled at you....you were accused of being me, too! But you probably took that as a compliment right? :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
