Who said anything about facing off with him or slander him over anything...... I'd just like to know what he was thinking when he decided to try and take over....

My idea of facing off is standing infront of your enemy and wanting him to tell you what He was thinking. As far as what he may have been thinking is clear, He thought he could. I did not mean for you to think that I was putting word in your mouth. Respect, your enemy and you will not fall victim to them; I'm and old military intel type.

It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle. Sun Tzu

Sorry for any misunderstanding

Why shouldn't he? It really would not be any advantage to him not to.

Ask a Mafia boss why he did what he did - do you imagine a straight answer? Or the smart-alec teenager? Or the gang leader?

Why would "the Father of Lies" consider you worth giving his time of day to answer? Why would he bare the secrets of his being to you?

It seems to me as if you are either regarding Satan as less than what he is, or that you are considering yourself bigger than what you are. And that has me very puzzled.

Neb, i know what he is and what he is capable of doing and I also know that without the Holy Spirit we are not going to be able to protect ourselves from him. But I do have the Holy Spirit so I really don't have to fear him. I'm certainly not dumb enough to pick a fight with him or tell him how bad he is...... I would really just like to know how he thinks he can overcome the creator, and I'm not too afraid to ask. It's as simple as that.

so you say....... There are not stars in Heaven........ heaven is not above the clouds..... hummmmm, when Jesus left he rose up through the clouds........ wonder where he was going..... and btw, did I say that Satan and Lucifer were the same????

Hummmm, Satan doesn't ever have a physical body.......... have you ever met him....... how could you know that. We're told to be good to strangers that we never know when we might be helping angels..... they do have bodies or we wouldn't be getting them mixed up with humans.... i just don't think I can go along with your thinking on this.

When Jesus left, He rose up through the clouds. That is to symbolize that God is above us in authority and power and wisdom. Do you honestly think that we could go straight up and eventually reach Heaven? No, Heaven is not physical. There are not stars in Heaven and Heaven is not above the clouds.

Here's a better question: why would Satan need to be buried? Could he die? He can't die, because he's a spiritual being. We KNOW he's a spiritual being because in Job chapter 1 he presented himself before the Lord with the sons of God. Satan cannot die, whereas the being that is being talked about in Isaiah 14 CAN die.

There is some (I believe legitimate) question as to whether Satan and the being Lucifer described in Isaiah are one and the same.

Satan is a title, not a given name. Satan is Hebrew for adversary. It is used 15 times in the entire Old Testament.

Lucifer means light-bearer and is rendered Heylel. It is used exactly once in all of Scripture.

I am personally not 100% convinced that Satan's 'name' is Lucifer.

While we are on this, what about Beezlebub? Is that satan ,also?

Beezlebub? Was / is a semitic deity that was worshipped in the Philistine city of Ekron. His name literally means "Lord of the Flies";

H1176

בּעל זבוּב

ba‛al zebûb

bah'-al zeb-oob'

From H1168 and H2070; Baal of (the) Fly; Baal Zebub, a special deity of the Ekronites: - Baal-zebub.

2Ki 1:2 And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.

2Ki 1:3 But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?

Baalzebub

bā-al-zē´bub בּעל זבוּב, ba‛al zebhūbh = “Lord of flies”; Βααλ-μυιαν, Βάαλ-μυῖαν, Báal-muı́aň: A deity worshipped by the Philistines at Ekron (2Ki_1:2, 2Ki_1:3, 2Ki_1:6, 2Ki_1:16). All that can be gathered from this one reference to him in ancient literature is that he had some fame as a god that gave oracles. Ahaziah, son of Ahab, and king of Israel, went to consult him whether he should recover of his sickness, and was therefore rebuked by Elijah, who declared that his death would be the result of this insult to Yahweh. [not a good idea to seek answers form any spirits other then God] Why he was called “lord of flies,” or whether his real name has not be en corrupted and lost are matters of conjecture. {taken from International Standard Bible Encyclopedia }

Hope you find this helpful.

They are both one and the same. The word Heylel is Hebrew. Go to this site and type in satan, lucifer, serpent. christiananswers.net

Lucifer was his name while he was still serving in Heaven, Satan though a title became the name he would be known as after his fall. THEY ARE THE SAME. There is a description of Satan before his fall in Ezekiel 28.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
