The problem with debating this - at least my perspective as I'm seeing it - is that how one debates this begins with a presupposition of whether or not such an experience can be real.

When someone who believes before reading the account that such do not happen, it's difficult to listen to the objections.

If the poster believes God no longer speaks or gives revelation, then the debate is actually about this, not the testimony or claimed testimony.

If the objections were points that altered the Gospel, how one views salvation, turned the person towards Universalism or a false religion, etc., then I'd consider the objections. But when it comes to things like wings? No, I'm interested in straining camels, not gnats. (See, I can be Biblical!)

So, what are the "camels"?

Well Neb I don't think that is quite what is happening. No one that I can see has said it's impossible to experience God or even to visit heaven. We are just saying it's impossible to be genuine AND contradict the Word. If this was a testimony with no contradictions I'd likely believe it.

That which agrees with God's Word Agrees with God... Love Steven

I went back and read what that Dr. Preacher said about the kid and his experience. Nothing the kid experienced bothers me and yes I have read and studied the Bible with Almighty Jesus. And trying to discredit a young child will fire up the Lord. And anybody that knows Jesus knows this. I've never read the kid's book but I did hear him talk about his experience on TV.

What contradicts the Bible?

Example

The Doctor Preacher says this

Jesus' clothing

He says Jesus' "clothes were white," p. 65, but the only one in Heaven who is not clothed in white is our Lord. His robe is "dipped in blood," Rev 19:13. The word for dip is "bapto." This is the word from which we get the word baptize. I would think this might stand out to a four-year-old.

When Jesus went thru his transformation with the disicples ....His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.

Dipped in Blood is the time of wrath. When he takes back this world.

Many seem to demonize this innocent child for his experience. I guess the child is in good company because they demonized Jesus too. But remember what Jesus said about his accusers. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgiven. I hope everybody is confident in their relationship with Jesus because anybody calling this kid a liar and deceiver and demonizing him will have no chance for forgiveness if it came from the Holy Spirit.

It is very simple... it is either God or satan...love or hate...I didn't see any hate in this revelation to this young child...I find it ironic that it is a Dr. writing the article and dogging the kid...

And if it is from God...and people like bullying a young child...I guess we will find out if Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is true or not...because this is a perfect example of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.....and the Bible is very clear it is unforgiven....that is y the Bible warns people over and over be careful what comes out of your mouth... your better off saying nothing and let it be...then joining in the bandwagon...

Psalm 31:19 "Oh how great is thy goodness," which thou hast laid up for him that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

Isaiah 64:4 "For since the beginning of the world" men have not "heard," nor perceived by the "ear," neither hath the "eye" seen, O God, "BESIDE THEE," what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

1 Corinthians 2:9 "But as it is written," "Eye" hath not seen, nor "ear" hath heard, neither have entered into the "heart of man," the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

1 Corinthians 13:9, 10, 12 (9) For we "know" in "part," and we "prophesy" in "part." (10) But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in "part" shall be done away. (12) For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: "now I know in part;" but then shall I know even as also I am known.

2 Peter 1:19, 20 (19) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

(20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

As Christians we believe that we have passed from death unto life forgiven for our tresspasses(sins) and saved from eternal damnation to everlasting life through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross. In being a Christian we know we have an eternal home in heaven awaiting us when we pass through death's door.

The Word of God teaches that none other but God himself and he alone knows and has "ALL" knowledge. The Word further teaches that mankind has only been given the knowledge of God only in part and not in all of it's fullness but part. Because we have the knowlege of God only in part we can only prophesy in part.

What that means is a person no matter their age cannot foretell (reveal) any part of the future on any given subject unless it stays within the confines of the Word of God being his will. If one speaks forth claiming they went to heaven or hell and saw things that cannot be founded in the Bible then that person is not of the truth and as a safe guard to our own souls we should turn our ears away.

We as believers are to let those who prophesy do it by two or three at the most and let the others judge whether it be true or not according to the part of knowledge God gave. We are not judging those who prophesy personally but we judge the words they are speaking out that it be in the part of knowledge God gave to man in his will Genesis to Revelation.

If a person claims to have a near death experience saying they went to heaven and saw things "for example" they may claim they saw those who sat on the twelve thrones in heaven naming them one by one. Obviously, this is not made known to the believers in the part of knowledge we've been given for it is "Outside Of It." so we know the prophecy is not true.

It is the same of those who claim they went to hell in their near death experience and saw things "for an example" they may say of those found in hell were being tormented but it wasn't by flames of fire that devoureth things on earth. But instead it was just a burning feeling in their hearts because they would have to remain in the state of darkness forever away from the prescence of God. Please understand those are only examples to make known my point.

Again it is clear that if a person fortells (prophesies) things that are outside the confines of the part of knowledge God gave then it is a false message. The apostle Peter said, that "NO" prophecy (fortelling of things pertaining to the future) of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Those who prophesy and impart knowledge to the body of Christ are "NOT" to do so from their own "personal" thoughts or imaginations of what they think is being shown to them after death. The natural mind can't comprehend the mind of the Spirit. Sripture says that God's ways and thoughts are "higher" than ours ways and thoughts. Mankind is not even capable of knowing the fullness of the knowledge of God that is why everything spoken must be measured (judged) by the part of knowledge found in theWord.

It is of the utmost importance for believers to meditate and read scripture for the purpose of being able to discern the truth from a lie. For it is the truth that sets us free not the lies Satan brings to deceive so we will brought back into bondage once again.

A near death experience is not at all needed to reveal the Word of God to the body of Christ dealing with what one claims they saw while in heaven or hell. If "Not"backed up or in line with the part of knowledge God gave to mankind in scripture then it is "False."

So openly curious

just for the record...r u calling the child a liar, deciever and child of satan...and specifically what bothers u about his experience....when I read the posts I see jealousy and enviousness of a nine year old child...and it is sad that people cant get some joy and hope from this child's experience...

some of u r offended because the child said everybody had wings...

Jesus said at the resurrection we will be like angels...if we are like angels...what is wrong with having wings...

Jesus said he is the God of the living...so y r u offended if the child saw his loved one...

nothing in this Child's experience should offend anybody...it was a loving experience during a time of crisis

Accusing people of blasphemy is not really adding anything to your case. It's actually a bullying tactic. Trying to instill unwarranted fear.

You shouldn't do that.

So glad you brought this up. I have a question for you.

Has the resurrection already occurred? If not, where did the people get their wings?

Does it concern you at all that satan came to Christ in tempting Him and used out of context and partial Scripture to gain power to overcome The Lord and yet could not?

the context of the above mentioned in Scripture as to angels

Matt 22:29-33

29 Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. 31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

NKJV

as to marriage not in created likeness or kind...

so what spirit have you brought to the defense of this innocence you claim?

I say this to get you to examine your own self

for are you not twisting the Scripture also?

For God teaches us they are created not in His image yet much more powerful than we and are able to look upon God!

But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: Acts 2:16-18

Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. Why would Colton have wings when the risen Lord did not and the Bible says that only the Cherubim and Seraphim have wing the rest of the heavenly host do not?.

I know the Bible talks about Cherubim and Seraphim having wings, but where does it state that they only have wings?

Seraphim - Isaiah 6 they have 6 wings and fly with 2 they cover their face 2 their feet and 2 they fly and cry 'Holy, Holy, Holy'

Cherubim ( living creatures) - Ezekiel 1 & Rev 4:7 they have 6 wings - 2 covered their body 2 touched each other.

They worship God and cry 'Holy, Holy, Holy'

Archangels - Gabriel messenger and Michael the warrior who is in charge of Israel

Angels

Daneil 10:5-20 -

I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, a certain man clothed in linen, whose waist was girded with gold of Uphaz! 6 His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like torches of fire, his arms and feet like burnished bronze in color, and the sound of his words like the voice of a multitude. - to verse 20

Acts 1:10,11

10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."

Heb. 1:14

14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

Psalm 103:20-23

20 Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word,

Heeding the voice of His word.

21 Bless the LORD, all you His hosts,

You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.

22 Bless the LORD, all His works,

In all places of His dominion.

1Cor. 13:1

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

Psalm 34:7

7 The angel[a] of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him,

And delivers them.

Acts 5:19

19 But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, 20 "Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life."

Acts 10:1-8

1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, 2 a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always. 3 About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, "Cornelius!"

4 And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, "What is it, lord?"

So he said to him, "Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. 5 Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. 6 He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.[a] He will tell you what you must do." 7 And when the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier from among those who waited on him continually. 8 So when he had explained all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

Col.2:18

18Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not[d] seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

, Dan. 7:9,10

9 " I watched till thrones were put in place,

And the Ancient of Days was seated;

His garment was white as snow,

And the hair of His head was like pure wool.

His throne was a fiery flame,

Its wheels a burning fire;

10 A fiery stream issued

And came forth from before Him.

A thousand thousands ministered to Him;

Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him.

The court[b] was seated,

And the books were opened.

Jacob fought with an angel. We are told to entertain strangers for the person could be an angel. If they had wings you would be certain that the person would be an angel.

Isn't this an example of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit or not? The child was wisked away to heaven by the Holy Spirit...he shares his experience...and people accuse him that it is not of God...so if it is not of God it has to be of satan...so if you accuse the Holy Spirit and portray this experience as demonic...r u not insulting the Holy Spirit and blasphemying the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Personally I don't know the child or his family haven't read his book...heard him talk briefly on TV...I'm not going to be an accuser of brethen...and it appears to be Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit...if it happened...isn't that what the Bible says...I said I guess we will find out...I didn't say whether it was or not...just seems like a perfect example...calling something of God evil...if it happened..I would rather be save then sorry

Man asked:

Has the resurrection already occurred? If not, where did the people get their wings?

24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

Jesus is the resurrection. Sounds like he is capable of rising from the dead, bringing back the dead, and visiting with a child whenever and wherever he wants. Do you not believe he is capable of miraculous events? This is quite appropriate being good Friday and all. He is alive and doing wonderful things. It is not good to be jealous and envious. Be thankful and grateful Almighty God has everything under control.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
