I copied this from another message board.  No one responded to these there and I was hoping you all could do a better job over here.  I haven't looked up all the claims yet so I don't know if these supposed contradictions are just made up or what.  I'm interested to hear the responses and maybe I'll take on the questions at the other message board with a little help from the good folks here.  Thanks.

------------------------------------------------------------1. In Genesis 32:28, an angel of God said to Jacob, "Thy name shall be called no more Jacob". After this, the Bible calls him Jacob in verses 29,30, and 32.

Also in Chapter 33, verses 1,10,17 and 18. And later, God himself called him Jacob in Genesis 35:10.

The inspired, inerrant scripture Second Kings 23:30 says Josiah died at Megiddo in the Inspired, inerrant scripture Second Chronicle 35:24 says he died at Jerusalem.

Ezra 2:5 says Arah had 775 sons but in Nehemiah 7:10 says Arah had 652 sons.

Solomon's temple had 3,000 baths according to Second Chronicles 4:5 but it only had 2,000 baths according to 1st Kings 7:26

There were 3600 overseers according to 2nd Chronicles 2:18 but there were only 3300 overseers according to 1st Kings 5:16

There were 40,000 stalls according to 1st Kings 4:26 but there were only 4,000 stalls according to 2nd Chronicles 9:25

In one incident, there were 7 people slain according to Jeremiah 52:25. But according to 2nd Kings 25:19, there were only 5 people slain in that incident.

Talents numbered 420 according to 1st kings 9:29 but they numbered 450 according to 2nd Chronicles 8:18

The numbers of persons slain according to 2nd Samuel 23:8 was 800. But 1st Chronicles 11:11 states the correct number slain was only 300.

Nebuzaradan burned Jerusalem on the 7th day of the month, says 2nd Kings 25:8. But according to Jeremiah 52:12, Nebuzaradan burned Jerusalem on the 10th day of the month.

David was offered the choice of 7 years of famine, according to 2nd Samuel 24:13. But not so, says 1st Chronicles 21:12. It was only 3 years.

Ahaziah was 42 when he began to reign. 2nd Chronicles 22:2 Ahaziah was only 22 at that time, says 2nd Kings 8:26.

Hezekiah was 25 when he began to reign according to 2nd Kings 18:2. At that time, his father Ahaz was only 36 years old, says 2nd Kings 16:2.

2nd Kings 24:8 says Jehoiachin was 18 when he began to reign. 2nd Chronicles 36:9 clearly states he was only 9.

All of the Amalekites were destroyed in 1079 B.C. according to 1st Samuel, chapter 15. They were destroyed 23 years later according to 1st Samuel, chapter 30. (Even then, 400 of them escaped.)

Bethel and Gezer were conquered in 1450 B.C., according to Joshua 12:12-16. They were not conquered until 25 years later, says Judges 1:22-29.

The numbers thing is actually easy to handle.  There are no numbers in Hebrew.

George posted a link that may help you. I'll see if I can find it. As for me, I probably should stay out of this debate. I have two going right now, and that's all I really have time for.

Think that's it. I can't say I agree with all of it, but it's still good stuff.

Jipsah, I'm talking about actual numbers, like 10 or 20,000.  There was a measuring system, but because there were not any actual numbers, it is easy to misinterpret them in translation.

Wow. Anyone know the answer to the list of contradicting numbers? (First time I've seen those)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
