I saw this on the news today.

I'm not trying to be insensitive here. I believe education is important. However, I can't help but wonder why it is that a child whose parents are illegal is being educated by a public school system. I mean, I pay taxes to help fund our local public school and I don't have any children. I find that a little annoying, but hey, we all have to do our part, I suppose. But why on earth is it that a child (however deserving and sweet and innocent she may be) is being afforded the benefit of an education provided by the taxpayers when her own parents don't have to pay any taxes? How is this remotely fair? Why is her family getting a "free" ride on the education train while legal citizens are having to foot the bill?

See, this is why illegal immigration is such a huge issue. I have total respect for those who come into this country legally. But I am sick and tired of illegal residents getting the exact same benefits of legal, taxpaying citizens. I know people are desperate for a better life for themselves and their children. But why are we continuing to reward them for breaking the law? Why is anyone who tries to regulate or quell the tide of illegal immigrants called racist and bigoted?

This little girl in the report is adorable. Her fear that her mother might somehow be snatched up and shipped off breaks my heart. But none of that changes the fact that her mother is the one in the wrong. Her mother is the one who came sneaking across the border instead of legally applying for entrance into this nation. However much my heart goes out to that child, I am offended at her mother's blatant snubbing of our Immigration Laws and policies. I absolutely do not have sympathy for anyone who enters this country illegally and then whines that they should be given all the same rights and protections of legal citizens. Should they be open to abuse and harm. Of course not. They have human rights just like anyone else. But I do not believe they have CIVIL rights as true citizens do. Except they do, don't they? Without having to do a single thing to earn those rights or to help pay for the management of those rights, they are given them. Someone please explain to me how this is fair or justified.

It's not fair or justified, winsome. We cannot support a whole other country. Instead of trespassing on our soil why don't the people of Mexico (and it's mostly Mexican nationals that are here illegally) rise up and take control of their country? Why do they not try to build an economy and a strong government instead of just running away? That little girl is not to blame, of course, but her mother is a criminal. I've been to Mexico; I understand WHY they have no hope there. But I also understand that WE built a country; why can't they?

There's no easy answer here but the answer is NOT another amnesty. Even more than the illegals I blame the federal government, hands down, for this mess.

The thing is, illegals in Arizona have MORE rights than citizens of Arizona. Yes, thats what I said, they have more rights. The Mexican consulate shows them how to file lawsuits to get what they want. For instance, years ago, Arizona was forced by lawsuit to provide free kidney transplants to any illegal immigrant, yet every Arizona citizen must pay for it themselves. Not even insurance will pay for all of it for any citizen.

An example I heard about this week was in VA or West VA. A girl came into the country at the age of 10 illegally with her illegal parents. She obtained student loans for college and is in her junior or senior year. She was driving without a license and got stopped for a traffic violation. She gave a false address (a crime), drove without a drivers license (a crime), going to college on fraudently obtained student loans (a crime, felony in fact), paying for resident tuition instead of non resident tuition (fraud, a crime). The feds decided to let her go on her promise to leave the country when she graduates. Yea right. She gets away with her crimes though. You and me, we would be in jail. How is this right?

Illegals have more rights than US citizens.

No its not right. But if we (americans) complain we are told we are cruel and racist....blah...blah...

I'm waiting for some sort of "amnesty bill" to sweep through congress. I heard about this a while back...I think it was Lou Dobb's that did a story on it on CNN. I haven't heard anything lately though... :whistling:

edited to add:

I found it on youtube...but I can't break the rules.... :whistling: Just type in Lou Dobb's amnesty bill....google folks it will come up...its an old story, but I think we will be revisiting this very very soon....

ayin, it's not just your state that gives illegals more rights than citizens. many states do that. for years, california has been offering illegal immigrants tuition breaks. if an american citizen from any other state enrolls, they pay out-of-state tuition rates. but illegal immigrants from another country can get in-state tuition rates. (maybe lower but i'm not sure). they can also get credit cards without providing a social security number. ever heard of an american citizen getting a credit card that way?

In some places paying taxes means you are legally permitted to stay even if you are illegal. The other reason the illegal immigrants get these benefits is more obscure. It is a way to help some business' to have cheap labour by indirect method. Cheap labour in reality means bigger profits.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
