I think i know what you're saying oak.

I think all day long because I don't speak much - no one to talk to really. Besides, a lot of time, when I do speak I wish I hadn't. That's because I mess up a lot. I fail in being a good servant to Christ. I fail in many ways. It's really hard to stay the course, to do the things that I feel important to do. Instead, I do/and think/ a lot of things that I don't want to do and to think.

I wish i could say that I only thought good things, but that wouldn't be true. However, the Lord is faithful to meet me when I go to Him in repentance.

How do we gain control of our thoughts? I don't know oak. Prayer, I think, is the best avenue. Each day, day after day, all we can do is the best we can do, and with each and every thing - be it good or bad - we turn it over to God.

12 thousand thoughts a day? yeah, probably. 10,000 steps a day is close to five miles, and a lot of people walk that over a day's time, without realizing it. And really, most people think more than they walk.

Another good topic, oak.

Another good topic, oak.

It IS a good topic....and now I'm thinking a lot about whether I'm thinking enough. I KNOW I don't have 12,000 thoughts a day. I wonder how anyone would know? I'd better go think about it.

Only Twelve Thoughts A Day!

Wow!

I Could Do That!

Now

If I Could Only Learn To Read.......

>>>>>()<<<<<

Do you suffer in trying to control what can only be helped with grace and prayer?

Yes

Search me, O God, and know my heart:

try me, and know my thoughts:

And see if there be any wicked way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalms 139:23-24

Often

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Yet I Rejoice

He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30

>>>>>()<<<<<

Most importantly do you feel your saved and then damned, day to day?

Yes

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord,

I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

And having an high priest over the house of God;

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,

having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Hebrews 10:16-24

Yes I Do

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God:

for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Psalms 43:5

And Then I Remember My Shepherd

And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:

Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:18-26

And I Sing Praises To The KING

But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Psalms 22:3

I couldn't resist.

I googled, "how many thoughts per day"...several threads suggest 60,000, while others stated 50,000, another suggested 15,000.

Interestingly, one article stated that 100 years ago we only had 5000 thoughts per day and now it is up to 55,000.

I wonder how many thoughts cavemen had.

Another article talked about how many thoughts a baby had, but I didn't read it.

Would a memory be considered a thought?

I think thinking about thought is how philosophy got started. If I think about my thoughts, does that make me a philosopher?

I believe this is a critical topic.

How we think impacts how we feel and how we act.

So if our thinking is continually negative, un-holy, evil, etc, we may be able to NOT act on those thoughts, but it is a continual battle. However if we change our thinking intentionally it will change the terms of this entire battle. Really all we can control is what is going on inside of us, we cannot control the world, we cannot control how or when we were born, or how or when we will die, or control what we look like or how smart we are, or any other people; and on and on. We only can control our minds and our hearts. This is actually a very freeing thing.

So anyway I will pray and meditate on that today thank you for posting this topic.

Ok Oak.... There's no way I can count what I think each day and I am none to proud of some of the things I think sometimes - and I do pray dozens of times a day for forgiveness of not thinking too kindly of something or someone ... My husband is convinced that I have more than 12,000 thoughts a day and asked me just this morning - What made you think of THAT?

Why don't you hear about more people who claim to be psychic winning lotteries? :)

Why do I have to put broken staplers and items of absolutely no worth whatsoever in "government surplus" to be sold at an auction where no one buys it and it has to be in paid storage for a year? :)

Makes ya wonder, doesn't it? :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
