Some may think of peace as one of those fleeting things we might experience one fine day into the future. Peace is often seen as the opposite of turmoil and strife.
Peace comes from deep within. Remember the fruits of the Spirit are of the SPIRIT. Those without the Spirit can't possibly posses it, at least not in the way the bible describes it.
I probably most often associate peace with sleep, yet we can sleep in restlessness. Peace on the surface seems like one of those meek traits when in reality it is a bastion of fortification against all unruliness and external forces which induce fear. Peace then, is a defense that relies not on ourselves or external circumstances, but the steady loving hand of God.
Peace stems from assurance. Peace is the opposite of worry. We can't have both at the same time. Peace surrenders, lays down all concern at the feet of Jesus.
2 Cor. 13:11
11 Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
Phillipians 4:6,7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
