  1. Another thing came to me. I am certain that everyone on this earth that is capable of lying has lied. That makes us all liars, and im sure many people will lie again at some point. Jesus died so that our lies and other sins could be forgiven.. but it seems that in hypothetical situations where deception could be helpful and prevent disaster, some are most adamant about NOT lying instead of adding one more lie to the collection of lies that they already have which can all be forgiven... Telling one less lie doesnt make you any better when you already have lied. Sorry, but I find it strange. I decided to expand on this further... Lets create a fictional character to illustrate it. Lets say.. Bob. Bob lied and said he liked his wifes cookies when he actually didnt like them. Bob lied to his friend and said thier necktie looked great when he really thought it was ugly. Bob called in sick when he really just wanted a day off. A young black man being chased by racists runs through Bobs construction yard where he works, where the racists lose him.. Bob hides the young man somwhere. The racists come to ask Bob where the man went, but Bob decieds to go back on the good thing he just did and tell them the truth, and the young man is beaten to death. Or maybe.. Bob says nothing and they figure he knows something so they beat Bob up and find the young man anyway. In either case, after all the petty, meaningless lies Bob told, he decides to stand up and 'be a good honest man' and somone loses thier life because of it. But he is still a liar... and a man is also now dead.
  2. Hum.. it amazes me how long this has gone on for.. 'Well what if!' 'Its still a lie!' 'But what if..!' 'its still a lie!' If you have a chance to save somones life, and you do nothing, Id consider you just as accountable for that persons life as the one who murdered them. I doubt God would send you to hell because you lied and saved a persons life.. or 500 peoples lives or 50000 peoples lives. You can ask for forgiveness but you cant give somone a life back after they are dead... You can throw it back and forth all you want, and say what you would do in whatever situation that you are sure you will never be in, but if you ever ARE in that situation, you will have this to think back on, and you will have a choice. Do you lie or not.. if you are the last defense for somones life and you let them die, you may as well have killed them yourself.
  3. Well.. hum. Rock stars are indeed talented, yes.. but, they are also backed up by producers and marketers, which tell them what is in, whats cutting egde.. what people are into. The producers often get them to write songs that appeal to specific demographics they are shooting for at the time.. But, anyways.. As far as Im concerned, Kobain didnt kill himself, Courtney had him murdered. He wanted to get out of the music business, but she wanted him to keep making lots of money for her.. but if he was leaving the business, he was worth more to her dead than alive. Theres evidence that points to it.. like, on the shotgun that he supposedly used, there were no fingerprints. Dead men dont wipe fingerprints off of guns...
  4. Im pretty honest, I dont like telling lies either... And its like you say, its better to not say anything at all, but usually by not saying anything the person figures out the answer anyway.. its like if you had a friend that was somewhat annoying, and they come out and ask you if they are annoying, do you say yes or no? If you dont answer they will assume its yes so you may as well just answer yes to begin with... or should you?
  5. Nice. Got Gravity? It does a body good. Very intuitive observation he made.. but one detail was left out. Not only are orbits and dimension proportional to gravity, but gravtiy is also related to the density of the mass. So its very possible to have small, dense planets that orbit in a similar way to larger and less dense planets, and vice versa.
  6. Um.. yeah stars ARE what science tells us they are. Otherwise, you would never see ANY stars, except for the sun. We have seen planets in telescopes, just regular old telescopes, and we know they are very massive spheres, but to the naked eye they appear only as stars... yet they are relatively close by. Now think of those tiny points of light we call stars, which are light years away. They would have to be -at least- as large as our largest planet in our solar system.. I think its Jupiter.. in order to even be seen at all. Many of them are a great deal bigger, and are so far away that the star has died out before the light even reaches us! And youre right, if the stars came to earth, they would have had to start moving probably millions of years ago.. maybe thousands IF they move at the speed of light. And yes, the universe is expanding, not collapsing. So.. what is this verse about? I have no idea.. you tell me.. lol And something else that came to me.. if an errant star even came -near- our solar system, the added gravity would pull planets out of thier orbit, the solar system would fall apart, and the invading star and the sun would attract eachother and collide which would probably throw the rest of our galaxy out of whack completely. Stars have massive gravity which is why they are the center of solar systems.. they keep the planets from pulling into eachother and blowing up.
  7. And really, even if a good sized meteor hit the earth it would still destroy it, it wouldnt even have to be the size of the earth, it could be quite a bit smaller and still destroy the earth. If anything like that happens, it would have to be a meteor shower, meteors the size of melons or maybe as large as cars.. in order for everything in that verse to still be able to take place.
  8. I dont think that is meant to be literal.. if even ONE star 'fell' to the earth, there would be nothing left at all.. no islands or mountains, or people hiding. The entire planet would not even exist anymore.. and thats just from a single star, let alone plural starS. I think that verse must be representative of something else, and that at the time they didnt realize that the stars are actually much MUCH larger than the earth itself. If the sun were a basketball, the earth would be something like a pea, or a marble.. I forget the actual dimensions but the sun is a great many times larger than the earth, and the sun isnt even a really big star.. its only somewhat large. There are stars that are many times larger than our sun, and some stars are much smaller.. our sun is somwhere in the middle. So.. imagine something like the sun, (or even bigger) crashing into the earth.
  9. Seems to me bad things happen to lots of people no matter what they believe... Ive had some bad things happen myself and.. honestly, I really dont care who or what caused it, why or how.. it happened, its over. Id rather move on than analize it...
  10. Heh. Theres this little thing called Gravity... If the Earth were the center of the solar system, the planets would have to maintain a constant alignment to keep the solar system from colapsing into the sun.. because the moment one too many planets aligned near or on the other side of the sun, it would suck in the nearest planets and the outer planets would all launch out into space... and we KNOW, even by looking through telescopes you can buy in a hobby shop, that the solar system does NOT maintain such a constant alignment. But, we havent been sucked into the sun and vaporized yet so..
  11. When I was in highschool, I wanted to be a writer.. But now I dont have any more dreams.
  12. See what I mean about oil companies wanting to fill thier own pockets.. They are the ones that fight alternative energies.. and they are the ones that cry OIL SHORTAGE. They dont want us to use anything more efficent or better for the environment, yet at the same time they claim oil is running out so we now need to pay them more.
  13. We also have an ever growing resource, probably the largest resource in the world. Garbage. Theres a lot that is being made out of trash these days, and there is still a lot more that can be made. You can recycle it and build things, and even make energy out of it, but the economic structure is already based around OTHER resources and forms of energy, and these people dont want that money to stop comming in, they want it to keep filling up thier pockets as long as it can. Imagine telling an oil company that we will now use battery powered cars, and build things out of recycled garbage and aluminum.. and that we will be using recycled motor oil and lubricants to make plastic, new oil will only make up the difference in the plastic we cant recycle or make out of trash.... they would not be pleased, at all.
  14. I doubt we will ever use horses again as our main form of transportation.. Electric, solar, inertia and other alternative powered vehicles are viable... but, theyre not being used yet for mainly two or three reasons. 1, for mass production, auto manufacturers would have to refit all the plants that they own.. expensive. 2, people dont like change, they like the cars they have, even with the gasoline and polution. 3, gas powered engines are currently more powerful. they have more horsepower, they can go faster, they can carry heavier loads. alternative engines that could be mass produced just dont have that kind of power in a practical vehicle (not a specialized race car), but they do work. So.. we probably wont see much of a change over until there isnt a choice anymore.
  15. I think sometimes we need to stop and reflect... Pause and look at some flowers.. look at the clouds passing over, see the wind blowing through tall grasses or even just watch cars go by.. youre watching time. Every moment, every millisecond, the world changes forever and we cant take that back again. If we dont slow down once in a while, pretty soon, there wont be any time left here at all.
  16. Youre right, time is going faster, for everybody. Time is like an arrow.. once its loosed and flying you cant take it back, and it moves fast. When youre paying attention you can see it fly, bit if you blink you will miss it. Theres so many things going on these days, so many things to do and pay attention to, that we cant notice the time as it flies by.. we blink, and its gone.
  17. Thank you sooo very much Marilyn... I think I just needed to let it out and hear some kind words... thank you, it really means a lot to me.. im fighting back tears right now.. I think I needed somone to remind me that I am beautiful even though I dont look the same as everyone else.. we all are, every one of us.. its hard to believe, when I look at myself.. I still look the same.. but its only the worlds standards that make me think I am ugly, which can be hard to get past. I dont know if ill ever be fully comfortable with myself, there will probably always be times when I feel down.. but you have helped me a lot. Thank you!
  18. Thank you so much for your reply Shelby.. I have seen what its like when ppl make comments about somone else.. its just wrong.. I have a cousin who is over 300 pounds, and has a generous heart of gold.. he would do anything for a person in need, let somone live in his house, eat his food.. drive 100 miles to give somone a ride if they need it. But I hear people comment to him about his weight.. he has a physical condition and a learning disability, and a very sensitive heart.. it hurts him so bad when people talk to him that way.. it just makes me want to cry.. some of them mean well but they hurt him a lot more than theyre trying to help him. Its so wrong! People shouldnt say things like that because like you said, you already know all about it. Its just not right for people to say things like that at all..
  19. This is like.. wow. I know how it feels to not like how you look.. This is something I almost never talk about, but now I feel like I can and maybe should. When I was 19 I had a bad case of meningitis with septicaemia, which is literaly blood poisoning. I slipped into a coma for a short time and was on the virge of death for a long time.. I lost a lot of my hearing due to infection in my brain, and the blood infection caused gangrene in my limbs, and caused my skin to start dying.. I was actually beginning to turn black from lack of blood to my skin. My hands and feet had to be amputated in order to save my life, and I had skin graft operations on my arms and legs, taking skin from my upper chest and stomach.. they took it off in squares so now I have discolored square patches all over and lots of scars.. it kind of looks like a quilt.. I also lost a lot of skin from my back and I was running out of donor skin so they used an artificial skin covering and I was transferred to a burn care unit to heal my skin... People cant see my scars because I always keep them covered, they only see that I dont have real hands, which isnt that big of a deal. But I cant stand to look at myself when I am not covered.. I feel like a hideous freak.. I dont want to ever get married or have a boyfriend because under my clothes I look terrible... I really cant stand to look at myself in the mirror.. im disgusting to myself.. Well anyways.. Ive wanted to say that for a long time.. and now Ive said it. I feel very selfish but I just cant help it.. my body doesnt look natural at all.. I hate it. Im sorry but I do... I guess thats all I can say...
