  1. Some things in the Bible are prescriptions see below “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife. In this way two people become one.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬ ‭ Some things are descriptions see below Various Biblical accounts of men having more than one wife. Just because you read about people doing things in the Bible doesn’t mean it was the prescribed course of action.
  2. “Hearing the law does not make people right with God. They will be right before him only if they always do what the law says. Those who are not Jews don’t have the law. But when they naturally do what the law commands without even knowing the law, then they are their own law. This is true even though they don’t have the written law. They show that in their hearts they know what is right and wrong, the same as the law commands, and their consciences agree. Sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done wrong, and this makes them guilty. And sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done right, and this makes them not guilty. All this will happen on the day when God will judge people’s secret thoughts through Jesus Christ. This is part of the Good News that I tell everyone.” ‭‭ Romans‬ ‭2‬:‭13‬-‭16‬ ‭
  3. Agreed. “God says, “Stop fighting and know that I am God! I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.” The Lord All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our place of safety. Selah” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭
  4. Why do many Christians have a strong disdain for Jewish people? I don’t think true Christian’s have a disdain for anyone based on race. Those may be the ones with his name in their lips who’s hearts are far from him.
  5. “God says, “Stop fighting and know that I am God! I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.”” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46‬:‭10‬ ‭
  6. “Control yourselves and be careful! The devil is your enemy, and he goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to attack and eat. Refuse to follow the devil. Stand strong in your faith. You know that your brothers and sisters all over the world are having the same sufferings that you have. Yes, you will suffer for a short time. But after that, God will make everything right. He will make you strong. He will support you and keep you from falling. He is the God who gives all grace. He chose you to share in his glory in Christ. That glory will continue forever.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭ “God has blessed you in ways that serve Christ. He allowed you to believe in Christ. But that is not all. He has also given you the honor of suffering for Christ. Both of these bring glory to Christ.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭29‬ ‭
  7. “Even if I walk through a valley as dark as the grave, I will not be afraid of any danger, because you are with me. Your rod and staff comfort me.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭4‬ ‭
  8. @farouk I find this entire post very unusual. Many pushed pages. What is your intent? Surely you have made your point by now? What goal are you trying to reach?
  9. I have not asked anyone about this to know. When I’m in church I never look for tattoos. A Christian should know if you believe something is wrong, then it is no matter how many people tell you that it is okay.
  10. Hey @Sower!! You are welcome thank you for the positive feedback.
  11. Hi Farouk thank you for sharing! I hope you are having a wonderful day.
  12. “Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭1‬ Beloved you have walked through a long season of being finely tuned to witness the voices of a debating spirit versus the voices of those who bow low with a teachable, listening heart. Yes those who are really hungry for My truth will pester with questions, earnestly searching for answers, but they do so with a different motive. Yes they sometimes wrestle, but that too is easily discerned. However those who are sucked into hardhearted debate with opinions, criticism, control, fierce division, cynic and bitter unbelief, they are no longer teachable. They wrestle with men, My truth, and their own bitter spirits, as they release the poison of the tongue. Wait on Me and let me wash you from the strife of tongues. Bring all that concerns you to Me and I will set you free from the spirit of debate that is circling the world. https://www.wordstoponder.info/discerning-a-debating-spirit/amp/ May we let go of our fears and our pride. May we open our hearts and minds to truly listen to one another. And may we have a different sort of argument… an argument filled with the spirit of love. https://salvagedfaith.com/2012/08/22/the-spirit-of-debate/
  13. Hi nice to meet you Cntrysner. I think an unregenerate preacher might be considered a hypocrite and then the work is not good. “You are a hypocrite! First, take the wood out of your own eye. Then you will see clearly to get the dust out of your friend’s eye.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭5‬ ‭ERV‬‬ In the passage above the speaker was probably giving good advice, but was instructed to work on themselves first. I think God uses the unsaved as well but not as far as them being a preacher. The Bible instructs on how to select a preacher it’s not supposed to be just anybody. Thank you for reading this.
  14. “Thomas said to Jesus, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “You believe because you see me. Great blessings belong to the people who believe without seeing me!”” ‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭28‬-‭29‬ ‭ERV‬‬ “And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” ‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭28‬-‭29‬ ‭KJV‬‬ I think we have a greater understanding of faith because we have not seen with our eyes.
  15. “The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor the same as you love yourself.” If you continue hurting each other and tearing each other apart, be careful, or you will completely destroy each other.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭
  16. Additional information: “Solomon includes a couple of warningsabout the dangers that surround the pursuit of wisdom. There are many books that claim to be collections of wisdom. Everyone sees the value of what wisdom brings and will add a claim to being the director of wisdom. Everyone likes to be in charge of the goads, to direct and control others. So the writing of many books is endless. The second warning, similar to the first, is that excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. The word translated excessive devotionliterally means "study." We can spend our entire lives with our "head in the books," not practically applying what we learn. Endless study bogs us down in theory. We spend our time pondering advice rather than learning practical wisdom by taking action. The warning here is clear: don't just jump to the next book, endlessly trying to feed our compulsion to understand. It is more important to live what we learn. There is wisdom in balancing study and action. Study and seeking wise advice is good. Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes to that end. But because of "hebel," there is a tipping point where our exploration abandons the paradox of faith and tries to find answers with our own strength. Solomon's warning: pursue wisdom but trust in God alone, the one Shepherd who is the source of all wisdom. Be intentional about your choices but be wary of your emotions and expectations. Focus on faith.” https://thebiblesays.com/en/commentary/ecc+12:11?highlight=ecclesiastes
  17. “For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭1‬:‭18‬ ‭KJV‬‬ As the spirit teaches me I do get sad and realize there is not much to say. So I stopped talking as much. Just saying how it’s been affecting me. I doesn’t cause me to go out and repeat what I’m being told. It causes me to see it would be a waste of time because people really need the holy spirits help to understand. Human words are not enough. “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭13‬ ‭KJV “We teach wisdom to people who are mature, but the wisdom we teach is not from this world. It is not the wisdom of the rulers of this world, who are losing their power. But we speak God’s secret wisdom that has been hidden from everyone until now. God planned this wisdom for our glory. He planned it before the world began. None of the rulers of this world understood this wisdom. If they had understood it, they would not have killed our great and glorious Lord on a cross. But as the Scriptures say, “No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” Isaiah 64:4” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬-‭9‬ ‭ERV‬‬
  18. Yes this is correct. I have repented getting tattoos bc in my mind it is wrong to do. My last tattoo was about 15 years ago.
  19. @farouk I would say yes Christians' own individual paths to the tattoo theme are highly varied. Thought the other options looked ok it was just the (no) option
  20. @farouk I think the options for no skews the bar because I think most of those no answers represent people with no tattoos or plans to get them vs like me that no my first tattoo is not faith based. Just a thought
  21. Hi @farouk I just answered no bc my first tattoo is not faith based.
  22. And there is repentance for sin, if committed. It goes against him to sin with forethought. The children of God and the children of the devil have their distinct characters. https://biblehub.com/commentaries/1_john/3-8.htm
  23. This is how to prevent burn out. Rest in Jesus on what really matters. Remember, there are distractions and imposters intended to take you off course. Get some rest.
  24. “So, son, study these sayings, but be careful about other teachings. People are always writing books, and too much study will make you very tired. Now, what should we learn from everything that is written in this book? The most important thing a person can do is to respect God and obey his commands, because he knows about everything people do—even the secret things. He knows about all the good and all the bad, and he will judge people for everything they do.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭ ““Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest. Accept my teaching. Learn from me. I am gentle and humble in spirit. And you will be able to get some rest. Yes, the teaching that I ask you to accept is easy. The load I give you to carry is light.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭ KJV below: “And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭ “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭
  25. ““Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest. Accept my teaching. Learn from me. I am gentle and humble in spirit. And you will be able to get some rest. Yes, the teaching that I ask you to accept is easy. The load I give you to carry is light.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭ KJV “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭
