  1. It is too late for that now, the Repubs emptied their magazine with the shutdown and now nothing will get done about the ACA with either the shutdown or the debt limit debate. The Repubs played all their cards and they lost...too bad for the country
  2. I was against the shutdown from day one because it was a losing tactic from the start. I was never for "stalling" the shutdown, the shutdown the the GOP equivalent of taking their ball and going home. what should have been tackled in the debt ceiling debate was ObamaCare, but now that is too late. Now ObamaCare is not even being negotiated by the GOP, now in an attempt to save some sort of dignity the GOP will settle for a "super committee" to deal with the debt problem. Well we tried this in 2011 and it was a total and complete failure...but hey, maybe it will work better this time.
  3. I thought you were all for stalling this Government shut down over Obamacare in favor of tackling it over the debt issue? could you re-word this into something that makes sense? I have no idea what you are trying to say here
  4. So, the Republicans countered with are calling for a supercommittee to exmaine the debt issue...hasnt that been done already...but if it gets me back to work it would be worth humoring them
  5. 63% disapproved of how the Republicans were causing the shutdown before the shutdown occurred it went up 7% afterwards. I'm guessing they didn't call very many in Oklahoma It does not really matter how Oklahoma feels, they are going to vote Repub no matter what happens, they do not have a single Dem congress member and they were one of the widest margins of victory for Romney. we are very proud that not a single county went for obama. I don't think a single voting place had a majority for him. Might I add that not only is our state not in trouble financially, but our rainy day fund where we store a little extra for emergencies is full to the legal limit, and we may have to lower our state income tax to stay legal with our constitution. We expect our federal congress ans senate to be doing the same for the country..... so don't bad mouth our Republican ways. I have said nothing bad about your Rebub way, just that in this battle Oklahoma really does not matter, they will vote Repub no mattter what...the Repub know this of course and use it to their advantage.
  6. Of coures you can, every survey explains their methodology if you just go to the source instead of relying on an article to tell you what the survey said.
  7. What's stopping him from doing that now? Why does he need all the trucks? To answer your question, I haven't an idea. I never heard of this Conlon guy. But I am all for the truckers and what they are doing, whether they succeed or not. I hope they bring lots of camera with them because the Obama media will try paint a bad picture. I think the truckers, like the bikers before them, are part of a grassroots movement taking place in America openly displaying their disapproval against this corrupt congress, senate, and the one who sits in the WH when he is not out golfing. I do not believe that one's protest should be able to harm the livelihood of another citizen. .
  8. every two years we have the option of getting rid of every single person in the House, yet we retain them at a 90% rate...and this happens while their approval rating is around 10%. How does this happen? the two numbers do not logically go together.
  9. is that like the quote of the day, you are the 3rd or 4th one to post it. How is this quote... People who live in the past generally are afraid to compete in the present.
  10. no, this is where you go wrong. The reason you dont call Oklahoma or Chicago when trying to get a well rounded response rate is because it is poor survey methodology. But just because something comes from a biased source does not mean it is wrong ,that is what is called the psychogenetic fallacy. You cant assume something is wrong just because of a perceived bias. If you want to discount the poll you need to look at their methodology and see it is was sound or not.
  11. correct. If you are doing the survey and want a true reading of how people feel you will not bother with Oklahoma any more than you would Chicago.
  12. When you say 'viable third option" are you speaking of candidates for office?
  13. 63% disapproved of how the Republicans were causing the shutdown before the shutdown occurred it went up 7% afterwards. I'm guessing they didn't call very many in Oklahoma It does not really matter how Oklahoma feels, they are going to vote Repub no matter what happens, they do not have a single Dem congress member and they were one of the widest margins of victory for Romney.
  14. both comparisons are a mile off, to put it midlly. Why do people find the need to make these comparisons? why not let a man stand or fall on his own accord without the silly comparisons and name calling If you read the article, the politician explains why she said it. I read it, weak explanation to say the least
  15. If you go to the source of the Poll they have all that information
  16. What...you don't think those two sources are Liberally biased? if the polls are false show it, show they called a select group of people or used leading questions or something!!!!!!!! having a bias does not in itself make something false... Bias has to do with the audience as well. If the majority of your audience is slanted towards one side of the political spectrum, would you not expect that specturm's view to have the majority? Think of it this way: If the report was titled: "Poll: 70 percent disapprove of Democratic handling of government shutdown," and then in the report it stated: "A Fox News poll released Monday..." How would you interpret that? but the poll was not of just Washington Post-ABC News audience. I would look at the poll and see who they called, when they called and what questions were asked.
  17. and those that live in the past sacrifice their future Actually, the quote is "Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it." It isn't about "where" we live. some people learn from it, some people live in it... one can learn from it without the need to compare everyone you dont like to one of the evilest men in history..
  18. not in the least, one of the arguments against the validty of the BIble is that the authors were biased, which they were. But bias alone does not prove something to be false, this is called the psychogenetic fallacy. FoxNews is openly biased and I have never seen a right leaning person on this forum every question a word that came from them. If you want to show the poll is biased you have to address the poll itself
  19. both comparisons are a mile off, to put it midlly. Why do people find the need to make these comparisons? why not let a man stand or fall on his own accord without the silly comparisons and name calling because people who do not place the past in their daily lives are doomed to repeat the past. unfortunately because we are so few, those of us who do are cursed to have to see it coming and watch it happen anyway. and those that live in the past sacrifice their future
  20. both comparisons are a mile off, to put it midlly. Why do people find the need to make these comparisons? why not let a man stand or fall on his own accord without the silly comparisons and name calling
  21. What...you don't think those two sources are Liberally biased? if the polls are false show it, show they called a select group of people or used leading questions or something!!!!!!!! having a bias does not in itself make something false... Actually it does. satan is biased towards his argument and so is his reporting and he is the father of lies. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were biased towards Jesus...does that make their writings false?
  22. because he is a spineless weak leader who only cares about his lasting legacy....just a thought
  23. B-I-N-G-O! The President's own internal polls are showing him that he's taking the blame not he opposition. That's why he went out yesterday and swore that hewas willing to negotiate after stating that he wouldn't all last week. do you have a link to these internal polls
  24. What...you don't think those two sources are Liberally biased? if the polls are false show it, show they called a select group of people or used leading questions or something!!!!!!!! having a bias does not in itself make something false...
  25. You do not think an alien can produce some kind of DNA? Kinda hard for something that does not exist to have DNA, no? you clearly need to spend some more time in the Controversial Issues forum...
