The narrow path
Is this my mission statement? IDK, maybe, but to be honest, I'm not sure, but no matter what, it's going to be for the Love of God and IT IS WRITTEN will always be the highest priority, that I can promise.
Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
There is a path, a narrow path, and the words of God define how we are to travel on it, if we wish to gain His approval. It's a journey that takes place as a spiritual war rages on all around us. For those who see this and wish to be soldiers of Christ, it's a labor of love, and we happily do it for the Love of God.
The first words of the Ministry of Jesus were IT IS WRITTEN. We learn a lot from the 'first's' in the words of God. We do well to study them so we stay on the narrow path that leads to life. There are forces that beset us on all sides, be they evil or just ignorance, they come against the narrow path just the same
Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him:
Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Matthew 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
GOD SAYS, and Satan calls THE TRUTH OF IT into question. We must never forget that. WHAT IS WRITTEN is what GOD REALLY MEANS, but Satan will always try to put a spin on it by asking 'is that what is really meant or is there something else. How many verses are 'questioned' today because 'the doctrines or beliefs of men/women' REQUIRE what is written to NOT BE what is meant.
I love the words of God. I love them as they are written. I admit, I don't know the meaning to all the verses but I believe 'not knowing them', doesn't give me permission to use them for some meaning to fit into my belief. As such, many times what I put forth doesn't 'agree' with the majority, but I believe it will always agree with what is written.
Isn't it funny the Ministry of Jesus starts out the exact same way as our teaching in the Old Testament does? So GOD SAYS,
Genesis 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Truly the 'tone' for the whole book is set. There is a WAR going on. There is a narrow path to make it out alive. How do we get off the path?
Our first lesson comes on the heels of Satans 'changing and questioning of WHAT IS SAID' by the woman ADDING her own thoughts to it.
Genesis 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it,
AND THEN taking what is a truth, and changing it in some slight way
lest ye die.
and we can see, it only takes ONE WORD to do so and at that point for sure, Satan has you
Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die
That is the basis of what this will be about. Taking what is written and retaining that meaning so it is clear to see what is TRUTH and what is Yea, hath God said
